Still waiting for the one missing thread for the needle dragon but I have found the perfect piece of fabric! Unfortunately it doesn't show up very well in the pic :-( but it's an opalescent white Lugana

I like the idea of using an Opalescent for the Needle Minder :D

Hardanger is beautiful! I stitched something on the opalescent white Lugana. It was quite a while ago but I'm pretty sure it was a wedding sampler gift. I'll have to go back and see if I kept any info on it. I remember really liking how it worked. I'm pretty sure that is what it was. Not quite sparkly, not quite shiny but gave the piece a kind of special look. If that isn't what opalescent fabric is, then I don't know what I stitched on.

One of my all-time favourite fabrics!

Here's a picture of it that shows the sparkle. I do find it slightly more difficult to work on than regular fabric as some of the fabric threads seem to be "double" and on occasion I have split them instead of going down a hole (which are a bit less defined than usual), but the effect is worth it :-D

The first stitches have been made - three blends just in this little bit

A real SAL? It's a wonderful piece. TW must have such an eye for colour.

The two Victoria Sampler pieces as cards, and progress on a dragon!

I can see a wing taking shape :)

I see you have multiple pairs of threads running at the same time - do you not find they you get confused which is which? (I would  )

I wouldn't have done in the past, I was always in awe of people who did parking, but doing my canvaswork for the RSN class I ended up working with about six or seven needles at one point and it got me used to the idea :D . I make sure I bring each needle up where it needs to be used next, which minimises the danger of mixing colours up.

:applesauce: :applesauce: the cards are lovely!
I also have been and still am awed by the people who are able to park threads. I get lost when I have more than 2. I am especially impressed with those who can park and have lots of threads hanging. I thought once I had a stand to put the frame on it would be easier, but I guess I'm just not coordinated enough or too old to change. One or the other, or maybe both.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the two lightest blue/green blends :thinks:

It is much more noticeable once the backstitch is done

Lovely progress. If I remember correctly, there is a lot of subtle color changes in TW designs.

Yes, there are a lot of colour changes, and most of what I've stitched so far is blends. Last night there was a bit of solid colour, the mauve at the bottom of the tummy. Have also done more of the tail. Sorry for the update overload, but it's keeping me motivated!
