Yay! I really love my Lowery. I’ve used it with QSnaps, scroll frames, stretcher bars, and hoops.

That arrived very quickly! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'm just getting the hang of mine now...so different from my Aristo lap stand.

I do find my Millennium frame a bit heavy for it. It sags a bit! :tizzy: I guess I need a prop on the end or something :thinks: Does anyone else find this?

Yes, I did too. I wrote about finding a solution here (spoiler alert, it involves Meccano :-) )

I remember now that you had a mechanical...or should that be Meccano?? ...solution to the 'Millennium Sag'

I shall investigate further as D/H may have a suitable alternative to Meccano.

My material arrived today, but I think there may have been an error. I ordered “sky blue” and the original piece looks correct, but I ordered it to small. So I ordered the identical material, but double the size and it looks more like a light sea green.

If I contacted them I expect they would just say it was a different dye lot…but this looks more like a different colour. However, it will still work for this picture and I don’t want to wait any longer.

Dye lots on hand-dyed threads can be amazingly different - was this a hand-dyed fabric? If it was a standard colour, like Zweigart fabric, then it really should be more consistent than that.

Just a standard colour, which is why I think whoever packed it made an error.

I also suspect it is a very small business with not many employees. It seems to me, insisting on a replacement would be a lose-lose situation.

I’ll just complain here.

It works! Using two Lowerys with the Millennium frame (which had to stand in for my large slate frame, as I haven't got that set up) means I can sit with my legs underneath the frame much more comfortably.
(A bit more about felting the jaws etc on FoF)

How do you access the back of the frame? (Of course, perhaps you don't have to...)

I will admit that I didn't try that, but I would think just the same way as you would normally, by loosening the handles and rotating the frame :thinks: You would probably have to make sure that the frame is clamped in exactly the same place on both sides, if that makes sense.

Oh, I wasn't going to buy anything either... but the stands (on sale) will be constantly in use, and the goodies from Paper and String are for study purposes... 8)

Purchases for education is always appropriate. Home study in the age of Covid is the safest way to learn.
