Hurray you are back home safely and that's great to know. Like everyone else I am looking forward to seeing your pics. Must have been a great time with so little stitching done.

Yup. Even here in my little patch of the West, Easter was a spectacular day. Typical; but if you loved it even in it's Spring changeableness, something must have been right. Sounds to have been a lovely time, full of new adventures.

Thank you all for welcoming me back. I need a vacation to recover from my vacation . Got my girls this morning. We have now been home for about 6 hours and they are finally both in the same room with me. Shirley seems to think that it is Laverne's fault that they had to endure the last 2 weeks so she hisses at Laverne as well as me. Hopefully that has stopped now. Both are well and survived what to them must have been an ordeal. The vet warned me that Shirley might be hoarse because she never stopped meowing (telling them what she thought of her situation, no doubt).

I've been catching up on real life and sorting pictures. Will post the best ones once I get a bit more organized. And am itching to stitch. Which is how I plan to spend my evening.

If I miss someone's beautiful project I apologize ahead of time and want to say Happy Birthday and Happy Forumversary to all those that I missed. And again welcome to all the new members.

Oh, our fur babies are so funny when we leave them. When I get back from a trip (even from overnight), Jackson first tells me off, and then he becomes a holster cat, not leaving my side at all for awhile.

Saving my pennies now.
Keep watching this space. I have my photos in Photobucket and now I'm trying to remember which is which. Fortunately the dates are a big help. You will soon see yourself and RosemaryD will also. Project for today is to get that done and post one or two from favorite places.
And laundry :( too.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.
The weather was relatively benign while you were here, which was nice.

Our fleabags always resent it while we're away. Old Albert in my avatar used to sit in front of us in the living room & swear at us for a good 10 minutes, go out and mark his territory again for 10 minutes, and then for the rest of the day was never further than 10ft from us.

Regards,

Richard

Re: OT: My trip across the Pond - PICTURES (more than you w

I won't bore you with all of them. And still have more to add to the Photobucket Album of my most fabulous trip of a lifetime 2015 UK Holiday. If I have mislabeled any of my photos, I apologize to all of you who live in the UK and please let me know so I can correct it. We saw so many villages, beautiful cathedrals, abbeys and smaller, charming churches as well as breathtaking scenery. More ewes and lambs than I have ever seen. Lambs that looked nearly newborn. One field we passed after a cold and rainy night (most of our nights were cold and rainy) had lambs wrapped up in what looked like plastic raincoats. Moving too fast to get a picture. Our driver/tour guide/and what feels like a new friend, had never seen anything like it before, either. Not sure I will ever be able to eat a lamb chop or any other lamb again. They were way too cute! The trip was very much like the movie "If its Tuesday, this must be Belgium", but I wouldn't change anything about it, except to be able to stay longer in the places we saw and stay longer so I can visit the places I didn't see. Enough babbling. A few of my favorite photos (though I couldn't take pictures everywhere we went or no flashes allowed so pictures were too dark to tell what they were):

Image
Tower of London

Image
Scaffold Site Memorial at the Tower of London

Image Image
Gauntlet at the Victoria and Albert Museum - not great for stitching and hard to see how it would be great to fight in either.

Image
One of the few decent shots I have of Westminster Abbey. Even peeking at the Shrine of Edward the Confessor was mind boggling and of course all the tombs of Kings and Queens and the Poet's corner and then against a wall in the Cloister we saw several smaller graves easy to miss among all the grandeur of the royal tombs

Image Image
At least that is what we thought they were. Somehow these brought a more real picture of people living and working and praying.

And most important of all in London I met:
Liz (BizzieLizzie)
Image

and
Rosemary (RosemaryD)
Image

I am so sorry that I wasn't able to meet more of you who are in the UK. Next time, I promise.

And some pics now without all the commentary.

Bath Abbey

A tomb up a hill in Avebury. The red and yellow blurs are fresh roses. The white blur is a candle which had been recently lit.

Image Image
St John the Baptist or St Catherine (?) in the Cotswolds.

Image
Thornbury Castle

ImageImage Image
and Hotel (I will never believe I slept in a 16th Century Tudor Castle)

Conwy Castle

The Lakes District (and the best gingerbread I have ever eaten (too much of)

Image Image
Hadrian's Wall and Roman Vindolanda Museum and Excavation (active dig) Site

Correct me please if I have mislabeled anything. A wonderful vacation :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

Looks like you had a fabulous trip! Both Bath and Lacock are places we visit often as they aren't too far away from home. Lovely photos!
