You must feel quite disheartened. Wish you lived near me! I'd love to go to a cross stitch group!

Don't let it get you down. When I started my group only one person that said she was coming actually came, everyone else vanished in the ether. You just have to stay with it. At least you can't have any less people turn up next time. Just keep trying. And if no one shows up, at least you've got time to stitch by yourself. Which is why I host mine in a free public room, so if no one shows up at least I'm not paying for it and I've got stitchy time.

Barkeep, I'll just help myself to a nice big, hot cup of peppermint tea (ran out at home). I brought my eagle WIP, but I'm just going to cozy up here by the fire and doze to try to get rid of this headache behind my eyes. :(

Ah yes what you need is a warm fire, a soothing cup of tea and some soft mellow music. Then doze in and out as you listen to the lite conversation around you of stitching and new projects and fantastic stash bargains. That would sooth away any headache. :D

I would like a big frothy marshmallowy hot chocolate please as my office is freezing & some interesting conversation to keep me from falling asleep! - almost 2 hours of work left & nothing to do! need to do something to look busy... which also looks like work... so not stitching!
On a happy note, I was very very pleased to find some of the original BIG Monster Munch in the Woolworths near me at lunchtime! Has anyone else had them?? I can still remember when they really were that big & a packet of them was a really big treat  happy days lol

Thanks for all the headache advice! It's one of those that medicine will not touch. :x I tend to get headaches when we have strong weather fronts moving thru. I didn't think the one coming thru which is supposed to bring warmer weather would cause a problem. Maybe I can convince daughter to lay down on the couch with me so I can snooze....

Everyone have fun working on their :wip: .

Angel, you're wonderful and made me smile :) I think mostly I was annoyed that I'd gone to the effort of tidying up, putting out drinks and snacks, really being the good hostess, and then there was a whole lot of no-one there to appreciate it, which kinda makes the whole thing feel a touch pointless.

Ah well, just a quick hot chocolate here then I'm off to bed :) Busy_B, really hoping that headache's gone now.

Are we OK to bring pets into the cyber-pub? Sooty won't bother anyone (and he definitely won't mess up your stitching, he knows better!) but he's ever so cute when he's sleeping. I'd never heard a cat snore before tonight. It was amusing.

Man U crests for husband and brother-in-law

*nods* I know what you mean. I know it must have been ever such a let down, but don't let them ruin it for you. I know it's not easy starting a group up and there will always be people who don't bother to show up or even let you know, but you gotta hang in there and then you'll have people who do show up and make it all worth it. I know you will *hugs*

Barkeep, I need something long and cold. I just received 10 files for my current editing job, and I'm going to have to play 'hunt the accent mark' through them all tomorrow to pick out the extra ones that have been put in. At least it's all been done using track changes, but it's still a pain.

Yeah, I've done some of that myself, in my time! Only for a local mag, editing stuff people sent in to make it fit for publication, but even so it was tedius work! And I was always SO tempted to just rewrite!

Oh, barkeep? Can I have a very hot cocoa, please? I'm freezing!

Ah! Friday night, Halloween, my book is done and I've submitted the invoice. Even had a long conversation with my sister in the US. Life is good.

Barkeep, the drinks are on me! :D

Can I have my usual hot cocoa and creme de mint. It is suppose to rain tonight and through the week-end. Not complaining as we really need it. I am going to go over in the corner and  over the new mag that Wendy sent me. I am so excited.
