Re: Holstein - update May 16
What a very colourful & usual design this is. Look forward to watching this one grow. You've made a very good start.
Richard love both your walks down Memory Lane. Imagining your mother walker with all those animals made me smile. What wonderful daily exercise parade that was. Would loved to have captured it in a photo or on a cine camera as we had in those days. Good for her to go ahead with this walk daily, she must have made many a person smile

You are making great progress. I'm getting ready to start the Jo Lynch Giraffe. What count fabric did you decide to go with?
Re: Holstein - update May 16
Hey, Lolo,
I am stitching 1 over 1 on 25 Count White Lugana. I've never used it before but thought since I was trying so many new things I would try stitching on a different fabric as well. So far I'm really loving it. It's really nice and flexible and I have to remind myself that even though it feels amazing and I want to run my fingers over it, I shouldn't, because no matter how clean my fingers are they can still stain.

I've gotten another page stitched. Although, stitching all that white takes a lot out of me. I didn't think it would be too bad because I didn't mind it on the first page. I think my mistake was instead of stitching the white first, I stitched it last which meant I didn't have anything to really count so I was just stitching row after row. Anyway, I'm really happy to have finished the page but now I need a bit of a break. Good thing I have just the right project in mind of a bit of a change.

Am I a lazy toad or what?
I'd have left the white fabric white & not stitched over it. Done the same with a number of black background pictures too.
It is looking good.
Regards,
Richard.

I love all the colors. Your stitching is beautiful!
Sometimes I don't mind rows and rows of the same color. It makes nighttime stitching easier no brain power required.

Re: HAED Holstein - update May 31
Not lazy at all! I did think about not stitching the white but I was unsure if the unstitched portion would detract from the finished look. And once I started with stitching the white I was committed because there is no way I'm going to rip out all that white I've just stitched.Am I a lazy toad or what?

I usually don't mind stitching row that don't require much thought but I think I just reached a point where there was too much and I needed to do something more finicky.Sometimes I don't mind rows and rows of the same color. It makes nighttime stitching easier no brain power required.

Re: HAED Holstein - update May 31
I've finished two more pages of Holstein. I finished it about a week ago but had packed it away before taking a picture. Figured I'd take a picture and post it before starting my next page. I'm going to be starting on the next HAED challenge. It's parking this time. I'm glad I got some practice working that way on some of the other pages.
