Having the little goldwork design all transferred and all for some time now, I have finally got it framed up   - I may even get round to doing some stitching on it this weekend :-)

I thought I'd include a little peek at what we laughingly call our dining table...

Save a space on the bench for me, please!! My dining table is where I stitch. Major project when guests are over. Then again, I do tell people my house is decorated in early feline and late cross stitch, so no one has ever been surprised!

That looks really interesting Mabel and what a gorgeous frame that is - work of art all on its own. I have to tidy my stitching away every lunch time and evening meal time. I only have a small oval table now but when I was on my own, my table often resembled yous especially when I was quilting! :)

Was going to start today but got distracted into baking and other cooking in preparation for tomorrow's Harvest Lunch at church, so will make a start tomorrow afternoon. Goldwork is nice, but homemade olive breadsticks are too :-)

I don't know what an olive breadstick is, but I think I want one now. :-)

I love all your work, and the goldwork design looks like it will be another masterpiece.

Just home-made breadsticks with lots of green olives in them :-)

Ooooh Mabel, they look yummy. hope you have put some in the Stash & Grab for any of us who drop in. I've looked in the door but not been inside yet - will have to stop by if your breadsticks are going to be in there. They'd be too good to miss

Absolutely divine work Mabel very much looking forward to seeing it grow, and as for your dining room table well all i can say is how can you stitch when everything is just where you need it? mine looks like a very bad jumble sale most of the time

Not done a lot on this, as I am doing lots of small projects for the November fair, but I have been able to get the top fabric stretched a bit more satisfactorily, and I've added spangles (the goldwork equivalent of sequins) and a few small beads to fill in the extra space in the leaf.

At the Craft Fair I did some goldwork demontrations using the little Jacobean flower, so finally some more progress on that! I changed the colours and combinations a bit - the petals are done in double silver Jap, the cone (or whatever it is) is worked in very fine pearl purl and check thread, both gold, instead of thicker pearl purl with double Jap. I really like the effect of the check thread bordering the fine purl!
