Thankfully I have access to a supply of the crumbly white erasers thru work, so

I've also made some more progress on the stitching, so ... here's the face completed, and I've made a start with the hair.

I've actually done a little more than shown in this pic, but I really didn't feel like getting the camera out at 1am this morning

Nah... it's like reading - some people read fast, some slow - and some books go faster than others because you enjoy them more - or because you HAVE to get 'em read fast because they are work/study related.
But whetehr you do something faster or slower than other people is not the point - it's your own enjoyment - or otherwise! - that matters.
In the short time I've been here, nobody has been critical of the speed someone else works!

I think I may have been slightly misunderstood here. I've only ever been supportive of other members projects because I'm also very appreciative of all the help advice and support that I've recieved myself...

Anyway, just to wrap this project up, here's a pic of my progress as of Sunday evening...


And after having a few hours to myself this morning (Monday a.m.), I finished the stitching, and also decided to backstitch a title with a futuristic looking font that I found here...


I'll eventually be framing John Barrowman together with David Tennant, and likely be giving it to my uncle and aunt as a sci-fi Xmas prezzie

@ threadbear, many thanks for your comment. And for anyone who may not know, these designs are both from the Cross Stitcher Magazine Stitch-A-Star series.
There's quite a few to choose from now, but I'm a particular Dr Who & Torchwood fan

I stopped using a pencil to mark my fabric...because I found it very hard to remove the marks at the end of the stitching.

Thankfully I've managed to get the vast majority of my pencil grid from the Barrowman project, but I agree with what you said that it was quite difficult.
I've since contacted my local stash outlet and found that they stock water soluble markers, so I'll be using that from now on

Daz, do you really find it helps to grid?
I've still never had a go at gridding, I'm quite unsure whether I'd find it helpful or whether I'd get more confused by it!

Well I've only just started doing it, (I guess John Barrowman popped my gridding virginity, so to speak LOL) but yes I feel that it helped quite a lot whenever I needed to double check the position of my stitching.
For me, the gridding made it MUCH easier to keep track of my position, so I'm sure it prevented a few mistakes (and for once, Mr stayed away)

Oh Daz I am sorry I was only teasing you about the speed of your stitching because you like so many, often have more then one project going at the same time. I was just saying when you have to divide your time over more then one project you tend to take more time. I am sorry if you thought I was being snippy. I was just having some fun.

Thanks but you've got to remember mine was on 22count and single thread so it's actually quite small so it would stitch up quicker.
BTW yours looks more like JB than mine does.
