HAED SK Some Enchanted Evening - 7 January

Post by imogenX »

Now that I've finished a HAED Freebie SAL, a "Quick Stitch" (ha), and a Mini... I'm ready for a full HAED. While I wait to make up my mind - and for some hand-dyed fabric to arrive from across the pond - I really needed an ongoing full coverage piece. So I started a StoryKeep. :P

Here's my little weekend start.

Image

I'm stitching on 25ct Lugana in Oberon - Fabrics by Stephanie.

I love that it's only 1 page wide, so this is the entire width of the piece!
I didn't have one of the blues in stash- that's why there's some wonky pieces missing lol

Good start! Doncha hate it when you're short one important colour... hey ho, it does mean you have to acquire it, and who knows what else will fall into your basket... :applesauce:

I have some Story Keeps I want to do as well. I couldn’t decide which of the Randall Spangler books I wanted to do, so I ended up buying the full design and will just stitch the one/s I want. I’m trying to make myself finish (or at least make visible progress) on at least one of my older, larger WIP’s before I start another HAED.

She was out of the Q-snaps, so time for an update! About 24% done already - I'm kind of loving that aspect of the storykeep format. I did have to slow down for some holiday gift stitching, but progress continues

Those little gables are 100% confetti and look like nothing up close. But the effect is so cool from a distance

Storykeeps seem such a reasonable size for HAEDs -- and this is a lovely one. I can imagine that the "stonework" does look very real from a distance. :applesauce: :applesauce:

:applesauce: :applesauce: This is one of the things that I really do like about the HAEDs and other highly detailed projects. The minute you stitch that one stitch that when you look from a distance, or often for me its when I take a WIP photo, and you say OMG that is a gable (face, tree, bird etc). You are doing a beautiful job.

Fabulous update! It makes me want to dig out my StoryKeep and get started. Maybe after the first of the year. Until then I’m going to revel in your progress.

WOW, it's so vivid, and that spire must have been a challenge.

It's gorgeous and your stitches are so beautifully neat and even.

Well done.

Thank you all for your compliments! These blues look so intense  (Page finishes feel different with Pattern Keeper, don't they?)

This got put on the backburner for some holiday gifts, and now I have a million SALs, but I still try to work on this at least a bit every day.

Beautiful ☺️
I love that with pattern keeper I don't have to keep to "pages" as such...I can bounce around a bit (within reason) if I feel like it...
Love the blues in the sky on this one 💙
