Well, heard from my nephew again and apparently the doctors are quite impressed with
Paul’s recovery. Saying it is quite miraculous. He is walking well and doing stairs. After this week he will be in the rehab hospital. I must say it’s the best Christmas present ever. Thahk you for all your thoughts and prayers and keeping my spirits up.

Just catching up with this, what a terribly worrisome time you have had. I am so glad he is on the mend, he sounds like he is a fighter and getting the right care too.

I hope the knitting helped during all the worry.

:whoop: for continued recovery :whoop:

and a  for you Linda, do take the time to look after yourself too, you have had a shock with all of this, please be extra kind to yourself.

Oh, dear, this must have been a very difficult time for you and your family. Wishing your brother a speedy recovery. And hope you find some relief in knitting or stitching now that you know he is better. Hugs.

Im so sorry to here about your brothers stroke. I am a 2 time survivor. So I know what he is going through, If my hubby was here I would have him write to you to give you some comfort because he knows what you are going through.
My best advice, And this came from a close friend was every time you get upset, or one of your family does, say eat a grape! It's silly and gets your mind off what you're upset about (it works wonders for me) I have depression from my strokes and the medication I am on, so this also helps a great deal.It means you have to work hard every day. I am 5 years into my recovery and I haven't given up that I will regain the full use of my left hand!Another thing to remember is that he is still on the green side of the grass. I have two mottos. One I borrowed from Apollo 13.My 2nd motto I live by I got from the National Stroke Association. It means you have to work hard every day.

Thank you Dewitt. Glad you are doing well. After a couple ipof days playing WWF, he finally messaged me, “Hi
I sis, I’m in trouble, I can’t say words” That just broke my heart, I could feel the pain in that short statement. I gave him some things to be thankful for, like his mobility and being able to think clearly. He is such a control freak and losing control of something you take for granted , well it really got him worried. He starts rehab this week so l know he will make improvements, just by sheer will. Time will tell. And he has a large support system, friends and family. Fingers crossed.
