Victorian table top stand
Anyone ever stitch on a Victorian (19th century) table top stand? Saw one for sale and I'm considering purchasing. It has the side bars that screw to tighten the stretcher bars. Very pretty stand and in very good condition. Sorry, don't have a picture.

No never but I'd love to have the opportunity to try! Depending on the asking price and your budget, I'd go for it as a decorative antique if nothing else

Re: Victorian table top stand
No, I have not. One or two look very much like the current roller frames, so if you can sit comfortably at the table, then there should be little difference from modern roller frames. Not having the quick snap attachments will mean it'll take a bit longer to fit the fabric, but otherwise not much difference in use.
I love our Victorian octagonal sewing table (looks like a more care-worn version of the one below), and have it next to my sewing chair. Very useful.
Regards,
Richard.

I like the sound of stitching on a Victorian tabletop stand. I would go for it too as if like Mabel says it's within your budget.
That is so lovely Richard. I would love one of those! Both useful and beautiful...insert the wonderful quote from William Morris just... here

I have not seen a Victorian Table Top Stand, but it would have to be extra special to prise me away from my roller frames and Lowry, having said that it is always whatever works for you. Do please post a picture if you find one.
@Richard, even in a well-loved form that sewing table is the business, excuse me while I turn a fetching shade of green and
