Can I join and add a mini-celebration? I received confirmation that my laced piece of embroidery made it safely to Stitch magazine and they now have everything they need for publication - and all but one ticket for my London workshops have sold

I propose a toast to, and perhaps an honorary Stash and Grab membership for, this fine lady out there in Reddit Land. Her son posted this picture the day she put in her last stitch, which was 20 years after the first one. Stitch by stitch gets us all home, sooner or later.

I agree, Mabel! I had this one needlepoint canvas, that was huge in size. Stitch by stitch I made it become a FO stitching - wise and took it where it belonged to. I dare to say I am proud of myself.

This is a lesson I'm in need of. I have a UFO which is nearing it's golden anniversary... especially as now I have a wall it can hang on!

Drinks all round - the last workshop ticket is sold

They still sell tickets at the Show as well, but it's a pleasant feeling going there knowing they're all sold out and I won't be lugging superfluous kits back home :-) ! Because I travel by train I have to be able to carry everything I take (and carry it around London on Wednesday until I get to SIL's, and on Saturday when I leave SIL's house in the morning but don't catch a train until the evening) and I can tell you, carrying three workshops' worth of materials is good exercise!

I certainly hope you have your materials in a rolling case of some sort. But think how delightfully light it will be on the return trip after the workshops. Have fun. I know your participants will!

Unless of course you get tempted by all that lovely stash on show. :)

:whoop: :whoop: :whoop: So pleased for you Mabel - it is a relief to know there will be that number of people there at least. :)

I need a grumble and cry sesh, and a big stiff drink or gooey donuts I think. Or both.
Among everything else lousy that's been happening, I just found a big sticky line of glue something on my Autumn project. I can't figure out where it came from and can't remove it all. There's no way I could pull needle and threads thru it. It's right where page 8/9 would be and I'm on pg 7. Like I don't have enough to cry about these days. Anyone know of a good fabric sale? I'll have to start over.

No idea. It's been rolled up in a shopping bag. Only thing I can think of is the new qsnap, but that doesn't make sense either. I don't remember anything happening the last time I worked on it. Good thing I have cookies and gummy worms left. :x

THanks for the shoulder. I've had a lot to cry about lately.

Have you looked online for how to remove glue, etc., from fabric? There are lots of suggestions, and some might work for you. At least I hope so, as you've done so much work on it already. It's worth a try, isn't it? -- after all, if none of the suggestions work, then you haven't lost anything, since you are thinking of chucking it all right now!

Two doughnuts, I think. :cake:

I haven't done that yet. I tried Oxiclean and then vinegar and more scraping. It's a little better. Was going to use more Oxiclean and then wash it tomorrow. Might be able to save it.

I hope it works and that you can then stitch over the section effected. I had to stop stitching my very first HAED because I followed their instructions and stitched 2 over 2 full crosses on 25 count fabric and couldn't get the needle through the sections with lots of confetti. Had already stitched 5 or 6 pages of practically solid black background. I have restarted it, but it is definitely in the going to finish it eventually pile.

Have another doughnut or two on me. And anything you want to drink too!
