A real miracle

Post by Roland »

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/ ... o-room-in/#_=_" target="_blank

The little baby in this article is my 1st cousin thrice removed. (Her great grandmother is my 1st cousin.)

Paizlee was born April 25 (Not positive of date, but I think it’s the 25th.) she was due August 22. If her mom had not been at that hospital for tests when she went into labour, I doubt the baby would have survived. There is no qualified hospital in their province. She only weighed about a pound.

She now weighs about 3 pounds, and made it through heart surgery.

Her m9m has been keeping a blog on Facebook. It’s written as if written by Paizlee. Really cute.

She no longer has the breathing tube. She now has a CPAP, like many people have to sleep. It means she is breathing on her own now.

She sounds like she’s a real fighter and has a wonderful mom and dad in her corner. And what a facility!!! I hope other NICU’s can do that. Please keep us posted on how she’s doing.

Such a dear little mite, brilliant she has responded so well to treatment. Always surprising how such tiny babies get the will to struggle on & fight life through to the fullest.

As others are, sending love & prayers for the dear little girl. & the family.

Apparently she did not like having that feeding tube down her throat. So she pulled it out. (Not the first time she pulled something out.) They put the tube through her nose instead of through her mouth. And mommy got to give her a bottle for the first time.

WOW, what a fantastic story to read and what a fighter Paizlee is. How wonderful she is able to feed from Mum, the bonding will strengthen her even more. Please keep us updated with this precious miracle.

So often our news is dominated by despair, violence and anger, it is so heartening to remind ourselves of the good in the world, and of course all the good people in it especially the doctors and nurses all rooting for little Paizlee.

Sending much strength and love to Paizlee and parents.

She has reached 4 pounds. And she is at the lowest amount of oxygen. This week they plan to take her off it for a short period of time.
