It is goldwork so I would think people would expect to pay a little more. Sounds reasonable to me. :D

I LOVE your latest design. :whoop:
It is so generous of you to give your time and materials. £15 sounds good value to me. If I think that going for a meal out or to the cinema cost as much or more and it is just one experience. With the workshop, not only you get to keep your piece of art but you have the knowledge for ever.

WOW and WOW Mabel has done it again. Another simple yet oh so elegant and different. I agree that due to it being `gold work' charging a bit more is definitely needed. :)

I don't think £15 is excessive, and the folk likely to be interested know full well that the materials cost more.

One way might be to encapsulate it in a resin. There are a number of thick resins that are designed to go on top of printed name badges. I have seen them, but not very recently. Wonder if it was in the last 'Hobbycraft' catalogue my wife got? Cannot remember.

Regards,

Richard.

Or work it on a thick calico background and then cut it out (carefully hemming the fabric, of course) and attach a brooch pin to the back, a bit like stumpwork (which I'd promised myself I'd never do again :-) ) In that case the wings could be free-standing, just attached at the base.

The wings would probably come to an unhappy end if they were free... Is it possible to use a nice fabric on top of the usual stitching fabric (for background, I guess), then mount it on something solid (bit of wood -- trying to avoid plastic...) then use a brooch pin.

(I must confess I thought the bee would make a lovely pin, too.)

  A gorgeous design Mabel & I agree about the bee brooch. How lovely other members have added their ideas on that subject. You certainly get good feedback, members always seem to be ready to help each other, putting forward ideas & advice. It is wonderful to have that kind of camaraderie & friendship via the Internet especially as it reaches all parts of the world. So lovely to have a global family

Serinde has added to this since I was typing & it would make a good pin too. Another string to your bow Mabel :)

Following doubts about the best material for my bee I tried three of them, and then found they make quite a nice project in themselves :-)
