Re: Happy Forumversary Mummy_of_Tia!
I just found this thread an di I’m embarrassed for not noticing earlier!!
I was looking for a thread regarding websites to convert pictures to patterns, does it exist? Or shall I start a new one?
I’m going to stitch this in the future either for me or my sister as we are both fans of the musical Notre Dame De Paris
- sorry picture removed -

Re: Happy Forumversary Mummy_of_Tia!
There is a pinned thread in the 'Tips and Tricks' forum called 'Pattern Making Programs' which might be worth reading. There is also a blog entry here that may be worth looking at:
https://lordlibidan.com/best-cross-stit ... -software/. I have looked at one of the online conversions they look at - Pic2Pat -, and they give it a score of 5/10. In all honesty, I think it's utter rubbish. Great if you want colour contours and a small limit to the picture size, rubbish otherwise. I've never tried any of the others.
Do you want something to look really close to that picture? If you do, you'll probably need some pretty good software. Look at the comments about BlendThreads in the blog entry and see if it might be something you could cope with - it's my conversion program downloadable thought the links in my signature. PCStitch really isn't up to it, PatternMaker is, but you pay for the program, and it can loose detail in dark areas if you don't know tweak it properly. Shame there are large dark areas in the image.
Hope this is of a little use..
Regards
Richard

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I found the thread and I have to read it properly.
I only have Apple products though, would your program work on Apple?
Also I don’t mind paying for a good result.

Sorry, no Apple.
The compiler I use cost me £48 (now it's free - grump), but the version that will allow me to export to Android/Apple costs £1200, which is a bit steep when I never sell my programs...
Regards
Richard

Professional software, whether CAD, programming, stress analysis or the like is expensive. And, with that compiler, it's not even the 'System Architect Edition' which increases the range of functionality by another step as the price goes to £5500.

Richard.
