Re: Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange
Only three days left to join up if you would like to take part
I've finished my gift but am not happy with it so thinking I may start again
As a lot of people are finding uploading photos difficult and, as we need people to post photos on this thread for the exchange, would those of you needing help with this be alright with me putting step by step instructions on here of how to do it? xxx

Re: Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange
Here's how to upload your photo (without using a third party image host website). These instructions I have taken from Richard in the 'Posting Pictures into a Thread' section.
To show images hosted in the CSF gallery:
To get the image hosted
1. Click on the 'Gallery' button at the top of the page.
2. Then in the line that says 'Menu My Albums Manage Albums Highest Rated Recent Images Most Viewed Upload', click on the 'Upload' bit.
3. Fill in all the fields necessary (don't need a description) and press the 'Submit' button.
To display the image in a thread
1. Go to the image in the gallery.
2. Click on the image itself. This will open the image with no border.
3. Copy the URL of the image, it'll look something like this:
http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... ic_id=8382
4. Go to the thread you want the image to show and put and (img) (/img) wrapper around the url - but use square brackets that look like this [ ] instead of round ones. I had to use round ones so they would display. So you get a url that looks like this:
(img)http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... 8382(/img)
When you use square brackets, this happens:
I hope this helps for everyone. As I said I will post the mailing list on Sunday morning (UK time) to give our American friends time to pass through the timing zone

Re: Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange
Here we go! Here's the mailing list for the Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange! It's the same rules as the Spring Exchange with you mailing to the person below you on the list, the last person mailing to the first person on the list. I have tried to arrange it so those that entered the previous one are not posting to the same person they did before but my apologies if you're sending to the same country. You must acquire the mailing address of your chosen recipient by private message. Please give your full name (not username) and write your address as it would appear on the mailing envelope. Please contact me if there are any problems or queries.
You can start mailing any time after today with the deadline for posting being Saturday 16th September. Once you receive your gorgeous gift please add a picture to this forum topic. I have shown in an above post how to upload a photo using the Gallery as I know a lot of you have been having trouble with Photobucket etc. Mabel Figworthy has also put up excellent instructions about a site called PostImage on the 'Photobucket and 3rd Party Image Hosting?' thread. Please also let us know by message when you've sent and received your gift so I can update the first page.
I hope you all enjoy this exchange and most importantly have FUN! This is a great way to share our love of stitching together and I for one can't wait to see what everyone receives from their chosen sender! Take a moment to appreciate the thought and time that has gone into stitching your gift and take joy in receiving a gift from another country!

I've checked WW's address (which I had; isn't that funny?) and replied to karen4bells, so know it's time to get the materials together.

Re: Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange
I know Tiffany has my address and I have Karen's and I have looked out the chart I want to use for Karen's gift so once this card/cover kit one is done I will get onto that.
Great idea Nicola.

Re: Autumn/Fall Gift Exchange
Great stuff Jo!
Tiffany I have your gift all wrapped and packaged but will post it on Monday as I'm away all weekend and won't be able to get to a Post Office.
Still plenty of time for gifts to be stitched so don't panic! xxx
