Graft Paper

Post by CindyW »

I am in search of graft paper like I used to buy as a student (back in the dark ages, or the 70s ;) ). The paper in question is approximately 13 squares per inch, which makes it good for designs; not too big and not too small...just right (says Goldilocks). Searching office and school supply stores, as well as Amazon, the smallest I can find is 10 squares per inch.

The paper I bought as a student was 3 hole punched, with standard lined paper on the reverse and the graft lines in green on the front. It came in packs of about 50 sheets, I'd guess. We used it all the time in mathmatics and science, but I guess that sort of work is done on computers these days.

I, also, was looking for old fashioned graph paper. I wanted the grid paper that matched the counts of the Aida cloth. One of the ladies on the forum gave me this link: https://www.printablepaper.net/category/cross-stitch" target="_blank" target="_blank.

I'm not sure if it will have exactly what you are looking for, but it's worth a try. The downloads are free.

Happy Stitching!

Never before have I heard 'Graph Paper' being referred to as 'Graft Paper', but given the usual associations with it, the name seems remarkably appropriate. Raised a chuckle, I must admit.

Only other thing I can add is that the '13 to the inch' stuff is likely to be 2mm squares (13 squares at 2mm each is 26mm, and 1" is 25.4mm, so with a normal ruler it'll look like 13 to the inch.)

Regards,

Richard.

Or could it have been auto complete on android/iPhone? I find that often puts up something completely different to what I intended.
