Thanks and unfortunately, they live on the other side of the state, it's a 5-6 hour drive away (I may or may not have accomplished it in 4, my mother need not be aware of this). Now that I'm (kind of involuntarily) working full-time, we also can't just plan a party for them. I did get the time off and hopefully tax refund will come in by the time the wedding rolls around- that way the extra money for the hotel won't be a bother. And yeah, there isn't a single hotel in Seattle that doesn't require paying for parking (or a hotel that doesn't try to slip it onto the bill, we had one try it a couple years ago). Two years ago we simply parked at the convention center since 24-hour parking ended up being cheaper than the hotel in the long run.Serinde wrote:Welcome to our newest chill room.
Even in the best regulated households, a bill can occasionally slip beneath the radar. Review your processes -- like not closing the desktop, in my case, sire. Now it's paid, and no need to be concerned about it.
Why not just throw a family party for your uncle after the wedding? I can understand your mum wants to go -- it's her brother -- but for a family business, it's just not possible sometimes to drop everything. You and Zak are adults. You are allowed to make your own decision and not be railroaded.
I can't believe the cost of parking at this convention! Hotel craziness is really a thing, I guess.
As for the rest: relax. Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. The future will bring what it does in its own good time.
