What a neat idea to send her some lovely kitty minis. I am sure they will help her "find her feet" in her new situation. Top marks to you too for being there for her all this time. WELL DONE YOU. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

I'm sure learning to cross stitch will be a help to your friend and the kits you chose are perfect ones for her to start with.

I hope she loves it too! I could go on for hours about cross-stitching and come here and still feel like I haven't gone or explored as much as I could have in this fantastic world of thread *o* The only downside is that she lives in Chicago so we'll have to try to set up a webcam session so I can help her kit it up and such =/

I got a new laptop in the mail.. my computer was giving me trouble. Hated it from day one. But it was cheap and you get what you pay for.
I asked my brother to look at a good one for me in my price range seeing as he is into computers and was a programmer for the gov't, He emailed me on Thursday that he bought one for me as a Christmas and Birthday gift and it came today. Now I am spending the next few days figuring out how it works and "trying" to remember passwords. Wish me luck.

Oh I ADORE setting up new toys. Please please please make sure before you do ANYTHING else on the internet, that you download and install an anti-virus. A great free program if you don't have one is AVG. One of my laptops ended up so infected it cost more to fix it than it did purchasing because I wasn't aware that McAfee was already on it, and tried to install Kapersky and they butted heads. On that note, most computers will come with McAfee which imho, is a crappy anti-virus. Uninstall, get on chrome, get AVG, download and install, then use the rest of your internet/email and such.

The Craft Room (capital letters) is in the process of beginning to happen   and I'm getting a few supplies to make sure there's enough storage. How's this for a brightener-upper :-) !

That is a very beautiful drawer stack. Image
Idea: If I print the picture (several times) and leave it lying around everywhere in the house... maybe a certain somebody would come to the idea to make me happy with a belated birthday present. Image

I needed some needle threaders recently and somehow these 3 little kits jumped in the basket too. It arrived today, 35 days after posting so I guess it got caught up in the after Christmas backlog. Still it is here and will be something small to stitch between sessions on Angel.

That little church is so pretty Sally, but I think there are two owls missing - spring and summer!

That thought had occurred to me too Mabel. Perhaps one day they might pop into my basket. We will see.

I have no plans for starting any of them yet, but they will be useful after my cataract surgery (no date yet) which was my main reason for buying them - fairly simple without blended threads and so many shades of 1 colour to cope with..

 looks like you may HAVE to buy another! You don't want to squash your fabrics.

And then a 3rd to house those threads.

I agree with Wendy, you don't want to squash those lovely fabrics and you obviously still have some fabric needing another home, so at least 1 more of these lovely bright drawer set up would be great sense. :whoop: :tizzy:
