Septic shock! That doesn't sound any good! I'm sure you'll get to your computer, but it's not time for that yet. I wish you speedy recovery, but don't push yourself over the limits, whatever they are.AngieR wrote:Still in the hospital Meds are not kicking in yet and they still have to monitor my heart ever night cause of septic shock. I think you should! Don't push yourself over your limits. My Dad (he is a dentist IRL) warned me from pushing myself too hard when I have a cold. It may get into one's heart, and that is serious business.Serinde wrote:

Re: 2017 St Cross Stitchers Ward
OK, and now that I've read and commented, I think it is time to tell how I am doing.
Last Thursday (this week's, that is) I was in pain, so I sneaked in here and snuggled into the nearest bed in the hallway. On Friday (this week's) I was in pain, and in the afternoon it started to snow! My rheuma had not lied to me!
And my stomach has been aching for days, and guess what? I have a swimming ban!
It is on schedule, no panic about that, but it's not easy to live with the rheuma pains and the swimming ban at the same time. Oh well, this too will pass, I think. Poor nurses just need to help me now and then if my legs refuse to co - operate without support.

Re: 2017 St Cross Stitchers Ward
Oh my gosh, I wondered what this thread was the other day & just read it today. I'm so sorry you all are going through all this! Sounds just awful, I hope you are all recovered very soon.
I've known a couple of young people who had hip surgery - one had a hip replacement (she is now without pain but still walks with a limp, she is 42, and has a lot of other health problems) and the other had labral tears in both hips & had to have surgery to fix. She's a runner, so that was a hard recovery but she's back to running now. Of course she is about 28-29, so that explains that, but in any event, both young, both successfully healed up! Good luck to you.
Knock on wood, colds seem to have skipped me this year. I was froggy this morning with a slight sore throat but that has happened a few times in the last couple months & I managed to miss them. Not sure how, but I'm not complaining. I have MS as well, so occasionally if I get a bad cold, I get a whole host of other problems to go along with it. Knock on wood, so far so good this winter season.
Positive healing vibes to all of you - hope you shake whatever your ailments are, and quickly! I find a little shot of brandy in apple cider does wonders for me.

It may be I am here at least for a few days. Swimming ban, you see. The pain has been my company for days. I am glad I am able to knit, though. And I hope soon it is the turn of my needlepoint projects.

Re: 2017 St Cross Stitchers Ward
Hi folks
Update.... I'm trying to not go to A&E with my knee and I went to my GP instead. In the UK at the moment our poor NHS is in crisis and I'm not one to go to see anyone unless really needed.
The GP would not do anything but give me some gel for my knee and then tell me I have to self refer to Physio.
I called them... answerphone. I decided to do my referral online instead.
So I'm resting my knee and hoping Physio can do something soon.
Hope everyone is well on the ward and the nurses are feeling good. Mines a cup of tea, milk no sugar please.

I am safe now, I think, to rejoin the rest of humanity. Hardly coughing at all now. So have plumped all the pillows, cleaned the glass in the wood stove, and made everyone a hot drink.
Re: 2017 St Cross Stitchers Ward
I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, Serinde! Seems like that was a hard one to get through. Don't overdo it now that you've discharged yourself. You do not want a relapse!

Quite! I prescribe some relaxed stitching, perhaps some doodling on the Bird cloth and playing with (er, I mean comparing and making decisions about) pretty threads and beads - accompanied of course by your favourite tipplercperryls wrote:You do not want a relapse!

And here I rest again, moaning as usual. Poor Serinde! She just got back on her feet, and now the poor woman has to bring me chocolate and cake all the time. But my rheuma keeps bothering me and it has been snowing today, so I can't but take it easy.

Re: 2017 St Cross Stitchers Ward
I've dropped in looking for a lie down in a quiet place with a nice big firm pillow to lay my aching head - which has 8 stitches & a large bump on it. I forgot to pick up my foot over the front doorstep and landed whop on the ceramic tiles. Didn't break them but have also cracked a neck vertebrae - it poses no danger to me but means I am supposed to keep my head reasonably still. Easy to do when I am sitting here caching up with everyone after my day stay in A&E. The joys of getting older.
Aahhhh that feels better and easier.
