All done. This bed is lovely and soft and it's great to put my feet up. I'm ready for my tea and Tunnock Teacakes. Yummy! I hope everybody else enjoys their tea and biscuits, too. Scan went quite well and showed some thickening of one valve and leaking from another. I don't know if I'll have to see a cardiologist now or not, but should get a new date for the trapeziectomy soon. Enjoy :tea: and :cake: :D

Glad it went well and that you can schedule your surgery soon. Enjoy your tea and teacakes! Then lay back and just relax!

Hope it goes well for you today. You'll feel so much better when it's all done. I had mine removed eight years ago by keyhole surgery. :)

Hope op went well & those waiting test results have good news. Hope I can join you, especially with Tunnock's cakes

Wasn't sure whether to come in here or the pub for a stiff drink but thought a lie down on the soft pillows for R&r would help. Had email problems. Asked to make a new password as not done one for a while, that was OK but later on it went wrong & I got locked out of 2 a/cs. Taken me 24 hrs of trying, & several phone calls to sort it out. Gave me a headache yesterday & this morning.

Last week ATM ate my debit card so machines & me not good at the mo

Didn't think I'd be in here so quickly when I joined

:grouphug: All of our amenities are available when you join (except I think you need 10 posts before you can open the galleries) so comfy beds and/or lounges are great for R&R. Just ask and anything you need or want can be provided.

I am having a periacetabular osteotomy in Feb/March next year to treat my hip dysplasia, I got to see the specialist on Tuesday at the Children's Hospital and was told if I leave it I will get early onset arthiritis and have to have a hip replacement, at 41 years that's not a good option, I have just stupidly watched a video of the PAO procedure and wish I hadn't it's major stuff :(
I have to think of the long term benefits and as I want to go travelling in my 50's when all my children have flown the nest, I guess I don't have many options.
I need a :wine: a very large one.

You can have another one on me. Don't think about the surgery, think about how good it will feel afterwards. And how wonderful it will be to be able to do all of the things and go to all of the places that you want to without having any pain.

Hello everyone. Please can I sneak in here for another nap as my two year old has chickenpox and isn't sleeping very well. I also have my two older children home (11 and 9) and of course we are in quarantine!! Just need a few moments to myself to sleep (or possibly stitch) xx

Oh yes. Hope your 2 yr old gets well soon. And that no one else catches it. Take as long as you need. Turn the lights down and find a soft, comfy bed for a delightful nap. Coffee or tea and a snack will be waiting when you wake up.

It's Friday Night: 3! :toast:

You aren't doing the surgery. Of course it's big stuff. Ignore that and concentrate on the good it will do now (not to mention when you are 50 and can go travelling!).

Thank you ladies, and thank you Serinde you have made a good point, in future if I need surgery I think I'll avoid searching the internet for details, I really don't need to know what they have to do, I just scare myself stupid with it anyway!!

Hi Lulu,

I've got dysplasia too! Surprised to meet another on here in a similar boat.

My back's a bit knackered, so any benefit of the PAO would likely be outweighed by pain & annoyance from my spine, so I'm not going for any surgery in the near future. I hope your PAO goes smoothly & your hips aren't too grumpy in between now & next year.

Hi Inkysloth,

I don't know anyone with this problem, so to meet someone on the cross stitch forum with it is a surprise for sure!
I am so sorry you have back problems too it's bad enough with the dysplasia let alone anything else, how are you managing?
