With more experience you will eventually find ways that suit you best, but I'd say whatever you are doing now is definitely working. Your grandmother is going to be delighted with such a lovely gift!!

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: A really wonderful start to a lovely design and your stitching is lovely and neat. Shading on some things can be a pain as one is often changing colours but it is well worth it in the end.

Lucky Grandmother!
Shading is always time consuming, especially when the shades are only slightly different from each other.....but the effect in the end is always worth the trouble. When you've finished stitching for the day hold the frame away from you and look at the piece and you'll see! 8)
