It is my 70th birthday tomorrow so the drinks are on me. Ihave had my gallbladder op on Monday so am feeling v sore. My celebrations are on hold as I don't want to go out wearing white compression stockings One of the wounds is just where my bra is so have not been able to wear one,a another reason not to go out. I know you ladies won' t mind if I hang out with you in more ways than one!!! Mine is a large glass of wine. :balloons: :wine: Forgot will have to make do with a :tea: can't have alcohol with my medication :tantrum: Enjoy

:toast: :rainbow: The soreness will soon go, helped along by 'hanging out' and celebrations with Forum Buddies!

if you have :tea: or :coffee: you can always pretend that it has 'something stronger' in it! It sounds like you're feeling the benefits already of losing that gall bladder!! :D

Take it easy and Enjoy those Birthday celebrations at a later date. My friend says that she often has 'birthdays' when she feels one is due. Any excuse for celebrating

:whoop: :whoop: :whoop: I love all birthday celebrations and turning 70 is definitely an achievement for celebrating Image. And sounds like a successful operation as well. ( And remember if you do want a :wine: here at our Stash and Grab, this is a vintage that never interacts with meds as well as never causing hangovers)

I'm loitering in the hope Mabel will come & stock up cupboard with her baked goodies, as it is a virtual pub guess there'll be enough for everyone who turns up & more to put by for another day

I'm getting ready for the Knitting & Stitching Show next week and for the October SAL, Kandi, so no baking at the moment :-) (except next week for my SIL with whom I'll be staying in London)

By the way, I have a Knitting & Stitching Show ticket giveaway on my blog and FB page - details in the Trade or Sell section!

I've sloped in here when I should be catching up with editing -- Carole came looking for me, so I thought I'd have a quick :tea: and explain that my sister and her husband are here for a visit. Hooray! Haven't seen her for about 12 years, so it's lovely to catch up, but makes only lurking in off moments possible here. I see you have all been very good and busy, we have a few newbies and birthdays and returnees!  So I think, really, we ought to have a party too.

As for your tickets, Mabel. That's just cruel, that's what THAT is. Temptation...

Ha! You know me too well. BTW, Mabel, I really like the October RIC! Will get it started when my sister and BIL wing their way westwards on Tuesday. Working on your Odessa at the moment. Great fun.

Good to hear you're enjoying Odessa and anticipating enjoying Round Ten :-D

Can I have a supportive hot chocolate (with marshmallows)? I've just made a list of things I still need to do before going to London on Thursday, and for the three other workshops coming up - and possibly a fourth by request from one of the local WI chapters

New Stash:
1st. I found a needlepoint store that had everything in it! It was a cross stitchers haven. http://www.needleworkersdelight.com/index.html" target="_blank" target="_blank
Stash: Anchor threads, Cottage Huck Towel (8 count), Magazines: at home with Needlework by Zweigart, burda Cross Stitch E837, and two fabrics 'Annabelle' by Zweigart (teal blue), and a cloth called 'Davosa (18 count) in soft mocha by Zweigart. There was so much to look at that I became a frog :ribbit:. I got another stash coming from 123stitch.com.

I believe I got enough to last a decade or more. :tizzy:

They will be closed at the end of the month for a 'Cross Stitch Club Retreat'? Does anyone belong to a club and/or go to retreats? :thinks: What are they like? :tea:

I know nachosmiley (Sam from Chromatic Alchemy) has been on one recently and she enjoyed it - perhaps you could pm her to ask about it?

I've heard they are wonderful -- from reports of both stitching and knitting ones. Potentially expensive, I guess, depending on destination and length of time, but if it's your main holiday I'd think it well worth exploring.

Maybe we should have a CCF 'retreat' (no! not a retreat to the pub...that's later!)? Obviously, it's unlikely that anyone could travel overseas, but perhaps a more local one. :thinks: :thinks:
