Washing a wool blend piece?

Post by DisneyStitcher »

Hey Everyone,

I recently finished a kit from Riolis that had woolen/acrylic blend thread instead of cotton. I have always washed my pieces after completion but it seems I've heard somewhere never to wash pieces with wool thread. Is it safe to dunk it in an Orvus bath? Or is this a time when Woolite is actually a good thing? This is the first time I've ever used a wool/wool blend thread. (Probably the last also - but that's a whole 'nother story  )

Thanks!

I'm going to say that Woolite is never preferred over Orvus. I know wool and acrylic yarn can be washed, but I can't speak directly to Riolis kits.

Can you contact the company and find out what they recommend?
