new to site but not new to cross stitching

Post by weeseechew »

Hello everyone. My name is Lisa. I've been stitching for gosh must be 20+ years...I stopped for a while because my mother in law and I would do it all the time and when she passed I just didn't have the heart to stitch. Then one day I told myself she wouldn't have wanted me to stop doing something I enjoyed just because she was gone. Now I stitch whenever I have the chance...on the bus, at home, in the car even...Well that's about it about me...looking forward to getting to know people.

 Hello Lisa, and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's passing, but am sure she is delighted to know that you have returned to the activity you both loved. And now that you have joined us you don't have to stitch alone. Not quite the same, but you do have a world of friends that love stitching as much as you do. Be warned that the only really dangerous part about joining us is that some of us (not me) that will encourage you to increase your stash and to try all kinds of new things. I have learned more in my 4 years here than in the 20+ years that I had stitched.

What types of projects do you like to work on? I hope you will post pictures for us to see. We love pictures! Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you've returned to cross stitching - it's such a wonderful, peaceful, therapeutic hobby. I hope you'll be sharing pictures of your work - and there are lots of enablers here (I'm putting on my innocent face now), so beware. :-)

Welcome to this group of lunatics from all over the world.

Pull up a chair & make yourself at home.

'Tis a nice place for a chat & it's always fascinating to see what people have done. So, pictures are really appreciated!

Regards,

Richard.

Thank you...I always seem to have at least 2-3 projects on the go....Right now I've got the owls, a second Deadpool and a cat design...I've got 6 cross stitch books:

Star Trek Cross stitch
Subversive Cross stitch
Celtic Animals charted designs (haven't done one out of this book yet)
80+ cross stitch kind thoughts
DC Comics Superheroes Cross Stitch classics
Cross Stitch Cute Baby Models

I had to start my stitching collection over again...So I think I am doing pretty good so far....
