Floss & Mischief patterns

Post by Inkysloth »

My partner gave me a Floss & Mischief kit for Christmas - which I started to stitch on Christmas evening, Boxing day, and was basically glued to until I finished it :)

I nosed at their site & managed not to buy all their patterns at once... just. Choosing Aqua Moths (which I've stitched for my mum's birthday), and Orange Beetle.

For quick / beginners' projects, I'd recommend these as nice, satisfying small things to work on.

You made quick work of your new project. I don't think I've seen this before, and it looks great. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

This weekends' stitching was the green dragonfly - but I substituted a pewter metallic thread as I had no gold, and dragonfly wings come in many tones!

I also decided to only tent stitch the wings, to try and approximate their diaphanous nature, but I'm not happy with them as I hate the DMC metallic threads. I'm waiting for some Kreinik braid to come in the post and I'll stitch a second dragonfly.

So lovely!! I'm going to have to look into getting some for my daughters to stitch. And, let's be honest, for myself as well. I really like the way the dragonfly looks!!

:applesauce: :applesauce: That is really lovely!! I like the look of the metallic wings and admire you for sticking with the DMC thread. Kreinik braid will definitely be easier to stitch with. Rainbow Metallic threads are another option also.

This is a very nice design. I especially like how you've made changes to make this piece your own. You've got good taste.

Thanks all!

I got some Kreinik Braid and have been stitching a new dragonfly - I haven't sworn once, and all four wings are complete! I'm a convert.
