Oh how I wish I had more time for stitching at the moment. I'd have loved to have joined in with this. The squares done so far are beautiful. I shall settle for watching this thread instead :)

Beautifully stitched. :applesauce:

Have to ask....why is your first square top right?

BTW ...I'm going to re do my Greek cross as it's a bit loose I think.
The cloth and pattern are absolutely beautiful together, very sculptural, so I'm really pleased. The first pattern is misplaced because, in my haste to start, I put the cloth into my 10" hoop, and didn't pay sufficient attention to which way "up" was... I did stitch it in the top left box, except it was the top left horizontal box... Hey, ho. It's a sampler!

Your Greek cross looks lovely -- why do you think it's loose?

Tip for starting the centre box: start the satin stitch with the longest run in the centre and work out to the sides. Much easier to count. :P

I can see now how you ended up upside down!!!

I want to do the Greek cross again because I didn't remind myself how to stitch them by looking at the instructions...gaily went ahead and made a 'right pigs ear' of it!!  So I :ribbit: 'd it, it was late in the evening, the floss went fuzzy but I wanted it Done! Only after I looked at it the next morning After taking the photo I realised it wasn't tight enough on on 2 sections. picky picky!

:D Thanks for the tip about the second, middle, square....to late! that's how I did it!!!

Here's number two. Apologies for lack of camera work expertise! Trying to show the sculptural effect of tone on tone...

Oh my goodness. What wonderful work you have both done Wendy & Serinde. Always love the hardanger you both show us. Wendy your colours are so pretty & yours all the one colour Serinde is very effective. Somehow I seem to have missed a couple of updates on this. I did wonder how Wendy was doing since she did the first square. Now I know you have both been very busy creating these wonderful things. Each time they are so beautifully stitched :whoop: :whoop: :applesauce: :applesauce: :D :D

mines been put aside till my christmas stitching is done, I have the first square done but I had to frog the entire border and fan stitches. Id been scratching my head wondering why the 4 sided stitch looked so chunky, then I realised that the ball of #8 pearl was actually a ball of #5 pearl, I didnt even know I had any #5 in balls! so the frogging is done but there is re stitching to be done now. :anotherfrog:

 Oh sympathy...... how dare that #5 pearl be on a ball!!! :tantrum:
I'm struggling with the satin stitches on square 3....I've always hated these 'ship' shapes...I lose the ability to count and the :ribbit: comes hopping in!!
practice, practice and when I've done this square it will no longer be a problem....I hope!!

I agree having #5 perle on balls is a pain at times.

MY box I am working from at present has only #8 & 12 I thought until yesterday when I started to do doves eyes with and discovered I had used a #5.

WELL DONE LADIES All those updates are fabulous. LOve the various colourways too, makes each one seem so different and all are beautifully stitched. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

:faint: So sorry that the ball of pearl #5 snuck in there. Naughty #5!

Here's motif 3. Bit tricky to count, but eventually got there! Not my favourite design so far, to be fair, but an interesting exercise. I thought the pearl 8 would have better coverage on 28ct, so I'm really glad I'm doing tone on tone!! By the time we finish, we'll have had a masterclass on cable stitch, dove's eyes and be able to do this particular ship motif in our collective sleep. 8)
