Chromatic Alchemy has a website!!

Post by nachosmiley »

Hi everyone  long time no speaky, sorry everyone I have been so busy with the business that I really don't have the time to stay updated everywhere I would like these days.

For those that remember me from way back you'll know that I started a Facebook only business hand dyeing fabrics around this time last year.....since then the momentum has been building so much so that I have now reduced my hours at my day job and now only work 3 days a week :)

At the time I started I did announce it on here and I know quite a few of you said that you were not interested in Facebook, I can totally understand that but it was a great place to start a business especially as it's free!

Anyway a few months ago I decided it was time to invest in a website, after what seems like forever and a few moments where I felt it was never going to happen....it just has! Today is the official launch date! :whoop:

So for anyone interested here is the link http://www.chromatic-alchemy.co.uk :D

CONGRATULATIONS SAM A great achievement.

Oh how wonderful Sam and I love some of those fabrics too. Oh Dear what a dilema as I had told myself not to buy any more until I had used up more of what is there. Mmmmm maybe some selective memory loss is called for.

I have a small query.

Some of the fabrics are so beautifully patterned, who on earth would want to stitch over them? I refer in particular to Yuanyang, Tigers Eye, Sayge, Permanganate, Nox, Nimbus, Maeve... and could go on.

Regards,

Richard

Aw thanks guys  :D I think the ones I'm most proud of the site doesn't show off too well...I'll have to have a play with it and see what I can do....the moonscape and lightning storm custom pieces are my favourites :) I have done quite a few moonscapes now, they are a lot of work though!

I love your website. It is beautiful and easy to navigate. Fabric and floss!!!!!! I have signed up for your newsletter and the instant I get official notice that my niece is engaged will be placing an order, but will have lots of fun perusing your site. ( I'm too superstitious to order the fabric/floss yet).
No way that you have been forgotten, but we knew you were busy, though you have been missed. No doubt in my mind that you would be successful. Lovely. Lovely. Lovely.

I'll be signing up for your newsletter as so as the site lets me (it's being a bit uncooperative right now - maybe it knows I should be running errands rather than drooling over your gorgeous fabrics!).

Will you ship to the US?

I assume she will. I expect we'll have to pay a bit more postage, but I think I'll have a hissy fit ( :tantrum: ) if I have to get my fabric and floss for special projects from somewhere else.

To answer your question yes I do ship anywhere. I have a flat rate of £4.50 for overseas orders and £1.50 for UK orders.

I don't stock perles right now but I've sent you an email Serinde regarding that

If the site has any other problems that you come across or anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know. It is all shiny and new and will have some glitches I'm sure. A few of my clients have found a couple already that are being worked on.

So far I have requested a continue shopping button on the cart, a wishlist and a possible layaway program, hopefully to be added later.

Thanks for all your well wishes, it does means a lot

I'm so thrilled that I have a site, here's hoping it'll generate enough business for me to dye full time....that's the next big milestone I want to achieve :)

 :whoop: Congratulations on your new website & I wish you well for the future. The fabrics are so pretty & as others have said it seems a shame to stitch over them.

Hope our new business goes from strength to strength. Keep us posted :D

Thanks everyone! :)
Wendy the giveaway fabric is more of a pale teal than turquoise colour really, it is very pretty though. It is actually a piece I was planning to dye a different colour for a customer but when I was measuring out dye I kind of twitched and powder got flicked onto the fabric....normally that would ruin the fabric as dry dye normally makes dye spots...... so I thought I would test one of my new dye colours over the top of the accident....my thinking was well at least I'll have an idea of what the new one will look like. Aaaaanyway it came out with no dye spots and looking fabulous! I wasn't expecting that at all!
So in answer to your question....I don't know! That piece was a happy accident and haven't tried to recreate it just yet but it would be great if I could....problem is I obviously have no idea of how much dye was flicked on the fabby (I weigh all my dyes out...for some a small difference in weight means a big difference in the end result!) Here's hoping I can though. :)

Just received the fabric I ordered ("Dune" for some Anglo-Saxon motifs). It's beautiful, and exactly what I was hoping/expecting. Serged and everything! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:
