Article of Interest for Folks Who Grid

Post by Allyn »

I don't grid my fabric -- never felt the need to -- but I know a lot of you do and find it invaluable. I saw this article (or I guess it's a review) from Scarlet Quince and I thought I would share it with my friends who grid or are thinking about gridding.

Thanks for sharing, Allyn. I sometimes grid and might give this one a go. If I do, I'll report back.

Interesting! Thanks for posting, Allyn. I grid with Sulky Sliver because when I tried a fabric pen the ink vanished within just a couple of minutes - literally! - and I had to keep reapplying it. Maybe I was using the wrong sort. I might try this pen but I must say I really like the neat stitching in the picture. :D

Thanks Allyn. I'll take a look. Stitching page edge marking takes an age and it really needs to be picked out before being sewn over.

Regards,

Richard.

That looks good. I wouldn't mind trying it but Amazon UK doesn't seem to have it and I can't find another supplier. Anyone found them in the UK?

I picked one up yesterday at Joann and with my coupon, it was reasonably priced. I haven't used it yet - might test it out tomorrow.

Interesting! I never grid, either, but will probably have to do something to map out the first HAED experience.

Interesting even if you don't grid - I've been using a similar pencil recently for drawing designs on darker fabrics (mine's a Bohin, with white leads only although other colours are available) and find it very useful!

I tested the pencil on a couple different fabrics and could not get the lines to completely "erase" - but I know I will use it for other things so I'm glad I tried it.

Did you try getting them out with a damp cloth, too? or just using the eraser?

I tried with just the eraser...maybe I should dry with a damp cloth.
