Post by Sojourner »

Hi, I'm just testing to see if I can work this picture posting thing....
http://i62.tinypic.com/2m7cku9.jpg(IMG" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank)

I know it's a small project compared to some on here, but it's a start! BTW, it's 14 count aida.
If this works I will post current WIP.

It worked. I saw the picture and it looks great and doesn't look like a "small project" to me. Well done.
When you copy the img code on the TinyPic website you don't have to do anything but paste it. You don't need to click on the link button also. Then the picture will show up in your post. If you want a smaller picture, you could see if there is a thumbnail option on TinyPic (I don't know anything about that website). Usually clicking on a smaller picture takes you to the photo website to see a bigger one. Doesn't matter, I don't think, but thought I'd mention it since you will see big pics and smaller pics on different threads. This is what it will look like with just a copy and paste of the IMG code:

Looking forward to seeing more of your projects.

Thanks - I tried copying then pasting but it didn't work so I manually entered the http code. I can't seem to get anywhere with photobucket either, but then I'm not that IT savvy....by the time I've done enough of the Monet picture I might have sussed it  (Sunflowers is in a frame now and looks better) BTW, the pattern was a free download from the net. I gained inspiration from visiting the National Gallery in April to see 2 of the 7 copies Vincent painted)

Nice and well stitched. How long did it take you? That sort of size project would be approaching a year for me.

I confess that Van Gogh and Monet are not to my taste - I'm very short sighted, and to see the world in the way VG and Monet painted, all I have to do is take off my glasses, which gives me a rather poor impression of the world around me. Consequently, I generally prefer something with hyper-realistic detail in the painting rather than impressionism - because that's what I can't see normally.

Regards,

Richard
