Hello from New York
Hello,
I'd like to introduce myself.
I live in the upper eastern part of New York. I am a wife, mother, and nurse.
I love anything that involves a needle and thread. I guess you could say I'm a Jill of all trades, but a master of none. I like to sew, cross-stitch, crochet, and knit.
Right now I'm in the process of finishing my family tree piece; hopefully I will have it done and framed by the end of next week. I already have another pattern waiting in the wings, an Amish pattern called, "Home for Christmas".
My goals for this year are:
1. Don't start another project without finishing the first one. So far, I have been able to stick to it! That is a miracle for me!
2. Learn the art of parking.
3. Teach my 13 year old daughter to cross stitch.

Hi and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! Sounds like you certainly keep yourself busy. I used to crochet but cross stitching has completely taken over. We have some great "parkers" here who I am sure will be able to answer most if not all of any questions you may have. (not me. I get confused after 4 threads hanging). I hope you will post pictures of your work. We love pictures!
Looking forward to getting to know you,
Carole

Thank you.
I'm sure once I am ready to start the parking method I will have A LOT of questions.
I would like to post some pictures.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I hope you'll share pictures of you work...we really, really like pics.
I used to be a one "big" WIP at a time with a small, "portable" one as a backup. I am now doing a few bigger ones and some portable ones...I guess I have gone from one at a time to the more the merrier. (And I have to place some of the blame on the wonderful enablers here. )

Thank you for the welcome.
My family tree cross stitch project has been a "portable" project. 75% of it was done while waiting for my husband's eye treatments to be done. . . . .hours at a time!
I'll post pictures of it when I'm done.

Hi Katie and Welcome from me too downunder in sunny Brisbane - well it was a moment ago. You certainly do keep busy. I normally only stitch one large item at a time, but due to an upcoming grand-child's 18th birthday looming will have to put aside my current large one very soon.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your work.

Re: Hello from New York
Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome.
I finished stitching my family tree project. Now I just have to frame them. Once they are done, I will take a picture and post it.
I have two projects lined up now.
1. Home for the Holidays--An Amish picture. A Christmas present to be given hopefully this year! I'm not a fast stitcher. This one might be my carry along project. It's not a stitch intense pattern.
2. Mad Hatter by Hannah Lynn. My daughter fell in love with this pattern, so I want to surprise her and stitch it for her for Christmas. This one has a lot of firsts for me. First: attempting to park, working with a fabric other than 14 ct, and using my new floor stand. I don't know about the fabric part. I may chicken out and stick with 14 ct. This project will totally be out of my comfort zone
I think these will be my two major projects.

Welcome from Mid Wales!!!
Look forward to seeing your finished project and the ones you about to start.
Remember you can stitch any chart on any count fabric, whatever your comfortable with. Just remember to alter the fabric size accordingly.
