Hi! I'm a little late but I've decided to start a 2014 project thread just like I did last year.
I'm currently working on a "Boston Strong" project for my brothers girlfriend. She ran the Boston Marathon last year and finished the race about 10 minutes before the bombs went off. It was very scary waiting to hear that she was ok. I'm not sure if this is her style but I'm pretty sure she will appreciate all of the work that is going into it. As you know, I'm a slow stitcher who tries to do too many projects at the same time so this is slow going. Stitching all of the same color, row after row, is mind numbing!
Enjoy!

Very pretty. I'm sure your brother's girlfriend will appreciate it, especially after the scary events of last year's Marathon.

Thanks for all of the kind words! I will be posting an update probably tomorrow.
I haven't stitched much. I think the simplicity of the project is killing me.
I discovered a problem this morning that I just can't explain or figure out. When doing the black outline, I'm off on one side. The left side and ride side of the outline don't match up on the chart. I've counted and counted and counted and I can't find my mistake. I'm hoping I haven't ruined my project. I still have several weeks worth of work to do. I really hope I'm not hosed.

I hear you on the quarter stitches. I changed my Psalm 23 WIP just to avoid dealing with quarter stitches on aida. Will have to try them at some point on linen to see if it is easier. Great Tigger!

Tigger is adorable. And I agree with Sally, quarter stitches are much easier if stitching on any evenweave fabric over two threads, but I always thought that after a while the aida softened up and made it a bit easier. With smaller projects, I guess that doesn't happen. You did a good job with them on Tigger, though.

I do have a few of the small, 5x7 Kinkade Disney kits. I'm afraid of them now. Oh well. I've got enough in my stash that I can put them off for a long time. Lol
I'm taking a break from the Boston Strong. It's very very boring to me. It's the first time I've used 16 count Aida and I do like that. I do constantly break my needles, though. Oh well.
I'm sick with a cold so I'm not doing much but when I do stitch, I'm working on some stamped pillowcases for gifts. I look at stamped cross stitch and embroidery as cheating but still fun.

Oh don't afraid of them, just be prepared. When I do another one (I have the full sized Lion King) I think I will switch out the fabric to something like a Lugana working over two. Then the fractionals are no big deal.
I've been fighting a cold, too...sleeping more than stitching.
