Across Town Stitching

I just wondered whether anyone knew of a problem with Across Town Stitching. I have only ever heard good reports about them, but I have a friend who ordered from them over three weeks ago and has not received her order. She has tried emailing them, phoning them and even texting them with no success.

I've never had a problem with Louise. Has your friend tried contacting her on facebook?

Personally I've never had any problems, quite the opposite in fact - but have heard reports from others that have, also her facebook page shows similar problems. A lot of it stems from the fact that you never get a "we have received your order" type email and often they are out of stock on some colours or waiting for a large order of threads to arrive - however unless the customer knows this it isn't very helpful! I hope your friend gets some response, if she doesn't and paid by PayPal she should be able to request a refund through them if it comes to it.

My friend finally got a response by posting a complaint on the facebook page. Thanks for the replies.

I've not had a problem before but I sent a message through facebook the last couple of times I ordered before I actually placed the order and Louise let me know that she had received payment and that some of the threads were out of stock and she would post them on when they arrived

It is with much sadness that we have to announce that Across Town Stitching is closing. The business was started in 2004 as a project for me when my oldest son was born and the last nine years have been lovely, but it is time for a change now.

All outstanding orders will of course be fulfilled and we will continue trading whilst we sell our stock. Threads have been removed from our site temporarily whilst we complete orders and work out what stock we have left, then we will sell our remaining skeins at a discount price

We'd like to thank all of our customers for their valued support over the years and it's been lovely getting to know so many of you

Oh No!

Its so sad to see 'local independents' (i.e not big superstores like Hobbycraft) close but Louise must have decided that it was time for her to finish this up

Very sad to read this on FB this morning - obviously something has come up as less than a month ago Louise was talking about how excited she was as the website was in the process of being redesigned. Such a shame - I guess I'll have to try Donna for big thread orders now.
