Must be something in the air... at the Craft Show on Saturday, I was instructed by DH to purchase a proper stitching light with magnifier (mine was badly scratched, heaven only knows how). So I did! The Jensen lamp arrived yesterday, and is fantastic (didn't pay list price, either!) :ratherbe:

Congrats on your new lamps, Maggie and Serinde!! I hope they give you many years of stitching assistance.

My postie brought me some lovely threads that I purchased directly from Carrie's Creations recently. The 5 on the left are Hearts on Fire Hand Dyed Cotton Floss and the 3 on the right are Hand Dyed silks--the one on the end is Bordeaux and the other 2 are a limited run labeled RR #7--Can't wait to try out the silks, and the cotton ones are likely going to be used eventually for a large project, to be determined later

Are they DVDs to watch while stitching, Rose? (I've got a few more audiobooks coming -- sometimes used to stitch by, but usually for enlivening my hours of bookkeeping :-))

Oh yes they are for background while I am stitching...... :D I also have a load of audiobooks to listen to as well. But puppy does not like it when I listen to my books as I put on headphones and he must think they are attacking me as he barks at them.

I got my stash from sew and so. Had to order something for my um so a few other bits slipped in too.

The silk n colors is for my attempt at my first chatelaine. I have downloaded a freebie ~ mini rose garden, which is mainly DMC but has this one silk with it and two different colour beads.
The 28 evenweave is for my height chart from th cross stitch gold magazine but now i see it in the flesh I am worried it may be a bit pinkie. I shall have to pull out some of the threads to see how they go!

Just got an order from 123Stitch. I wanted to try some other threads as well as the DMC variegated Pearl 8's to see how they looked in the Hardanger pieces. I got DMC 99 (which matches the Pearl 5 I have) and a Caron Wildflower and Caron Watercolor, both Primrose. Am I right in thinking that the Wildflower would be used in the same way as the Pearl 8 with one strand? and the Watercolor would be used for the Pearl 5 with one strand? or all three? or two? I have a hard time getting thread equivalents through my head. Or should I be asking this in the SAL thread?

Anyway, I also got the chart for No Light Knight Snacking. Nikki (Fizzbw) did this a while back and I loved it. I plan to do one for my sister (who has so far lost 15 lbs with WW) and one for me (since I hope to lose 15 lbs or more) now that I'm back on. I need to see if I have some pretty fabric already or OMG I will have to place another order.
