I'm considering attaching some fabric(?) to the back of mine - the same size as the afghan, and perhaps a complimentary colour - to cover the back of the stitching..?

Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations..?

(Sorry Pinguxxx, don't mean to hijack your post :? )

When I did a baby afghan a long time ago I bought a piece of flannel material that complimented the stitched design and the I sewed it to the back of the afghan so the threads would not get caught on anything. :thinks:

That's the kind of thing I'm thinking, Rose. Did it work out ok? I can't decide whether to do this or not :?

This is where I'm at after about 6 nights of stitching. Had to finish my cupcakes and my little girl's been poorly so not as far in as I'd hoped. Anyway this will be Pooh & Piglet sat back to back blowing dandelions :)

First one is finished. The backstitching took two nights and was a KILLER. But its worth it I guess, it looks so sweet :)

Mmmm…just realised I've missed a bit of backstitch on the grass. Third night ahead :?

:applesauce: adorable. and the backstitch is worth it. I like to backstitch (I guess I'm weird) when it really makes the design clear. Kind of like watching an HAED design appear out of what seems to be a hodgepodge of color. then its identifiable. same thing with backstitch. Your pooh and piglet are great.

I usually quite like backstitching but this is full of 'not in the hole' stitches which I find tiring to do! Plus the afghan, although the squares are big is hard to pierce, I might have to get a sharper needle!
