Thank you so much for reporting these dishonest people.
I have tried to report the copyright infringement to e-bay. This is more difficult than you would imagine!

My work is being copied and sold illegally all over the world and consequently my business is suffering. Many designers are facing this huge problem
I am sure that honest stitchers have no idea that these are pirated copies produced illegally.
It will only stop if we report these criminals to e-bay and Amazon etc.

The problem is vast in Russia and China!

It is a terrible problem. Personally I stay away from ebay when I shop for stitching bits. I tend to use websites I trust or order through my local retailer. I was too late to report this but I would've.

So nice of Margaret to reply and express her gratitude too.

Thanks for sharing the letter. I don't think people truly realize the hurt they're doing to the designers when they do this... If only you could send that letter to the ebay seller!

Although I from Asia, I 100% support to banned the illegal copy way. I not the designer but I know it is really a hard job for them come out the design. I know Asia here a lot illegal item for music, craft pattern etc. Feel shame to heard news report that Asia always the big problem on copyright case.

I did went a shop asking for 1 cross stitch pattern. But I was very angry when hear the seller said the pattern was scanned by them self, still ask me want color or black and white!!!! How shame!
I direct reject and leave the shop immediately, and I will never go there again.

I really hate those illegal copy to earn money!!!
For us really bit costly to buy handcraft material or pattern, but this is not the excuse to get illegal copy too.

The copyright infrigement that is taking place is a real hot topic with designers right now, I think they have had enough of these theives eating into their business! Michele @ HAED is trying to take action against these websites and fraudulent people and I also read this post at Joan Elliott's blog on Friday. I think it is important that we try and do our bit to help these designers that we love and admire so much.

Just been on Ebay to find this person and report them....can't seem to find them now, but I did a search for cross stitch cd (just out of interest) and this seller came up....seedsy66fiona.....all she is selling is ripped off cross stitch patterns...including Disney, and she also has the cheek to sell 2500+ kindle books on a cd too!!

GRRRRR How can Ebay NOT know these are ripped off items!!

These idiots just spoil everything for us honest folk who are quite willing to pay for the privilege of owning the charts that these hard-working designers create for us!!

Only just back from Devon so missed this while it was going on, but great that this forum is so good about copyright -- not just that members respect it themselves, but are vigilant on behalf of others! What a nice letter back from Margaret Sherry!
