My (not so sympathetic) daughter :)

Post by freelady »

I've been stitching pale blue on white. When I paused to take a prescription pill I got small cut like a paper cut from the pill packet. It bled quite a bit....not a problem but I said to my daughter - "What will I do now? How can I stitch if my finger is bleeding? It will get all over my work..." She instantly came back with "You have needle and thread there, sew it up and carry on!" Lots of laughter as she went to get a plaster (band aid) for me. It had to be the right index finger, didn't it.

Greatly sympathetic!!

I cut my finger (sewing finger!) a few days ago, and my first reaction was "no not my sewing finger!!" Thankfully its healed up enough that its not too painful to stitch with, but it will be a while before it heals completely. My family were rather unsympathetic about the damage to my stitching hours though!! I learnt to stitch without it for a few days.

Hope you heal well, those pill packets are lethal aren't they, and even if they don't cut badly, they always leave your finger criss crossed with little slices through the very outer layer of skin...

Ouch. Paper cuts are the worst. and to your stitching finger especially. Non stitchers sometimes cannot understand that it is the emotional pain of possibly not being able to stitch more than the physical pain from the cut. I hope that it doesn't incapacitate you for too long.

Oh dear. Shame there isn't an equivalent for the texting finger! Still at least you did get your band aid. Hope it heals up soon.
