Sarah's Tsu'tey from Avatar - FINISHED!!

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

I thought I had better start a thread for this now - I've got the chart printed, I've got the fabric and I've done a tiny little bit on the first page! I thought if I work Sarah The Horse until my eyes go squiffy (with the black fabric) then I can take a break each day and do a little of this. At least this is a good excuse to do some of it because I can't wait.

So, this is Tsu'tey from Avatar, stitched on 32 count cream Jobelan evenweave, 2 over 2. I made the chart with my Life Stitch Simplicity software - I think there are 12 pages of chart.

This is the picture........

The first page of the chart is mostly greys and greens for the background so I don't actually get to Tsu'tey until the second page. I'll do my first update photo at the weekend.

What an interesting picture! I will look forward to your progress!! I'm curious Sarah, how many do you have on the go! I myself couldn't resist, and am trying to juggle 7 different charts this year, with a couple of focus pieces. I would be interested to see how you handle it! I have a problem, I admit it! I love it!

Vani, including this new one I have 8 on the go. With the original seven (4 of which are HAEDs) I work one page of the chart and then move onto the next project. Each page takes me around 1 - 2 weeks depending on the amount of confetti. I love the variety! :D

Can't wait to see your progress!!

Out of interest, Sarah, do you separately kit up all your projects? I imagine a common colour might be used in several of the projects so do you purchase separate skeins or swap the duplicate threads around as you need them? I tend to buy separate skeins, but rarely, as I don't have as many projects on at the same time as you. It occurred to me that if you did the same your floss stash would be huge!

Slinky, I don't kit them up separately. I just have one bobbin of every DMC colour and keep them all in number order in three bobbin boxes, then I just pick out which one I need, whatever project I'm working on. I have a large enough working area to have all 3 boxes open while I'm stitching. When a bobbin starts getting low I put it in a separate compartment of one of the boxes and when 5 or more low bobbins have accumulated I order a pack of new skeins and refill them.

And now for a picture. This is growing quite quickly at the moment at there are large areas of one colour in it. Nothing exciting to see though - the whole of the first page is just background.

I had to go back and look at the dates of your posts. Are you telling me you did that much in 48hrs??!!! Do you have an army of Oompah Loompahs stitching for you?

The speed at which you stitch is astonishing. I am, of course, quite envious!!
