what I'm working on

Post by crossstitchpro »

Hello Everyone,
Sorry I can't stay and read/chat. Life is very busy right now. The biggest news is that my son and his fiance are coming for a short visit. Our children aren't able to come home very often, so when they do, it's a big deal and our world stops while they're here....

anyway, I started two projects. One is of a primitive cat from a painting by Henri Rousseau. The other is called, "Near Kennebunkport". It's of a lady in her country garden. It's from a painting from the 1800's.
(Kennebunkport is a seaside town in the state of Maine, it's famous now because President Bush's family owns an estate there.)

I have some "virtual stitches" images of what the designs will look like when finished and some pics of what I've done so far. They are the first ones in the WIP album.

Wow, Lori,
you have just finished that beautiful iris, and now two such beautiful projects! And so much done already!

Just taken a look at your gallery and you really have done some stunning work!

Seeing the lady in the garden picture has made me want to complete something like this in the future, so keep us up to date.

Have a lovely time with your son and fiance

...and I can't believe your garden - absolutely beautiful and HUGE! :cold:

Goodness what a lot of progress on both of your WIP's maybe the rest of us could take a clue and get more stitching time and less forum.......Oh no that wouldn't work for me I go through severe withdrawls when I can't peek into see what every one is up to.

Thanks for the update and enjoy your family I do the same thing when my son comes home. Daughter is here alot so I am able to do other things when she comes home. But we still have fun. And besides that she brings treats from her cooking school. The last 3 visits saw her with 3 cakes each time. Diet what diet?????

Was just saying exactly the same thing to my BF! Haven't got any stitching done today as I'm constantly on this forum

To make things worse, he even brought me my own laptop yesterday! Spoilt or what?! So things are only gonna get worse

We had a wonderful weekend with our DS and his fiance. She's a lovely girl. They are so inlove that the air around them is syrupy sweet. :D
The only problem is that she's not eating enough to feed a bird. My daughter did that before she was married too. After the wedding she promptly gained 10 pounds. (she's still quite thin)

Since it snowed yesterday (we still have about 3' of snow....spring is so late this year)...I stayed in and stitched most of the day. Here's my progress on the The Tiger Cat: You'll find it in the WIP album.
