Charity Ideas

Post by Bontanique »

I stitch for two charities so far and a few people have started to join in the stitching. So far we have done bookmarks. I am looking for ideas that are quick and easy to do.

maggs i like the coaster idea, and if you buy them from Blank Plastic they are £5.25 per 10 plus postage for good quality square ones (exactly like the framecraft ones, with nice rounded corners) and if you buy more they get cheaper.

Keyrings are also very popular, nice and small to stitch and reasonably priced. Another idea is to buy the very tiny frames that are similar in size to a keyring and stitch initials, flowers, tiny animals etc.

Cards They can be quick if you do small designs, fringe the edges and mount the design on ready-made cards.

I love unusual scissors keepers and my mother thinks her magnifying glass keeper is fabulous.

Ummm, how about cell-phone accessories..? You could even use plastic canvas if you want to.. Then make combine 2 faces and stitch it like making small pillow by pushing (like somewhat fluffy stuff, similar to cotton). You could stitch it using the same line with backstitch border or you could even use transparent string. People love stuffs like that around here...

It's also good if you could make hair accessories, just make round design (around 2 cm for the diameter) then use it to wrap a round button, stitch it nicely and attach it to a decorated ribbon..
