Stitch & Craft Fair at Olympia

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

For my birthday I've been given three workshops at the Olympia Stitch & Craft Fair later this month, and I can't wait to go!

Are any other stitchers going on the Friday? Anyone else doing the ribbonwork/embroidered knot gardens/cross stitch and beyond workshops?

What are these fairs like? I don't think we really get them in the Netherlands, I certainly never visited one, and I'm not quite sure what to expect, although I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it :-)

Lucky you! We keep looking at them but my step mother, her sister and I have yet to decide on one. I have stumbled across a small one at a hotel I was staying at last fall. I was so jealous of the ladies but I did manage to get shopping. I have gone to several lacemaking conventions and I can tell you from experience bring the check book! You see so many things that you don't normally see!

How exciting ! remember you will owe us a full account when you get back!

You will allow me a few days to get over my shoppers' fatigue, won't you:-)?

No, I'm afraid that as we've just started a new business the visit itself and the workshops will have to be the main attraction rather than the shopping, although my mother and aunt have very kindly made a donation towards the occasion, and I have been told under pain of excommunication from the family to spend it purely on stitching fripperies and on no account on anything useful!

Can I borrow your family?

These things are great, and I've heard good things about Olympia. Make sure you keep hydrated, too.
