Fabric

Post by crossstitchcowgirl »

Hello to all,
I need help. I have been looking everywhere for something that is 3feet by 3 feet fabric to do a cross stitch on. I really love aida fabric espcially the 14count one. But they only go up to 51x36 and that wont work. So hopefully someone in here can help me.

maybe I am missing something here...but isn't 3 feet by 3 feet, 36"x36" so then you should be okay with a piece of fabric 51"x36"?

I don't know where you live but here in the U.K. Sewandso and may other on line shops do Zweigart 14 count aida and it is 43" wide and you buy as much as you need, does that help or am I reading you wrong? If so try again and I am sure we can help you?

I found some that is 42 inches wide--here's the link--they have several types of fabric there so you may want to look at the site more in depth

Am I assuming you want a piece that exact size and have no wastage? That could be impossible or you might find someone willing to cut it for you but they would charge you for the wastage so you're better off to buy it yourself and have some bits leftover.

If u go to ur LNS, the store might have a bolt of aida that u can ask for the amount of fabric u want. I have seen them at the LNS before whenever I go to get my evenweave materials.

Where are you located?? In the US?? or another country and what craft stores are near you? They may be able to help you locate what you are after. The link I posted above is in the US and they do have a toll free phone number so you could calll and ask if they would be able to sell you 40 inches of the aida--I found a few there that were at least 42 inches in width so you may be lucky and they will be willing to sell you 4 ft of it or so in length. Just a thought

I have this but in 18ct. It's 43" x 11 yards so you can easily just cut the size you need.

I know it sells for 100 dollars...but they have a 50 percent off coupon right on the main page and to get an entire bolt for 50 dollars is a steal. You are likely gonna pay at least 40 dollars if not more for just a piece of fabric that is 40 x 40 or so.

I was about to suggest the same as Borotracey - if you buy off the bolt you can get a much larger size.

I've just read this and it seems an awfully big piece of fabric to me. Are you SURE that you read the size right? A lot of patterns, especially European ones, are in centimetres (cm) although most have an inches measurement as well. 36cm would be just over 14 inches.

Just thought that if this was the case, it would save you a lot of money. Not many people do projects as big as 36 inches by 36 inches so wouldn't have that size fabric on hand.

If you aren't sure because you don't have all the packaging, someone here, if not you, can probably find it on the wondeful internet and be able to check the size.

Hope you find what you want though.
