1972 Chevelle
Here is my latest endeavor! My husband is a complete car nut so I bought a book with several car patterns. This is my first time working with mettalic threads and I have at times been very frustrated. I did see the thread on these threads and am greatful for the advice I saw there! Enough babble here is a few pics:

Re: 1972 Chevelle
When it is finished and framed, I will get James to take a real picture of it (these are with phone camera). I have been wanting to do a stitch quilt. Not sure if I am brave enough for that yet!

Nice work, this will be lovely when it's finished. I love cars myself, especially old classics. I bet your hubby will be delighted with this.

Re: 1972 Chevelle
Hopefully! He wants me to get a pattern generator and do one of his 4 wheel drive truck. (I am bubbling over at the prospect.....of a pattern generator!) I have a few photos of the kids I would love to see how they turn out in X-stitch!

Re: 1972 Chevelle
Haven't read the tips on metallic thread, but if it hasn't been said already I was told to dampen it which I did and found it easier to work with.

Great work, well done
... and I know what it's like with metallics - I have some Madeira metallics that are really awkward to stitch with. Also, without realising it was included, I bought a kit this afternoon which has blending filament as part of the project - another new experience for me

Re: 1972 Chevelle
Yeah, this car has blending filament also...the headlights. I think I got the wrong thread it is awfully thick. it is the right color so I have just been using one strand insteado of two. Unfortunately the closest place to get thread is an hour away from where I live.

That is making me want to do a cross-stitch of the 1979 camaro my husband is rebuilding but I would have to wait till he picks the right color

Re: 1972 Chevelle
Looks great! I don't do a lot with metallics. I have a project that I just started that has a lot of blending filaments in it, so I will definitely be using thread heaven!
