So upset...

Post by coffee_freak »

My small stitching bag I take to work w/ me, the ATC and Friendship Exchange pieces were in there..along w/ a "Congrats on your engagement" card...
someone at work spilled soda all over my pouch...an I was off for 3 days..I go in today, remembering I forgot the pouch there, and see a dried sticky mess that is my pouch stuck to the filing cabinet.

so I will have to take my name off of the 2 exchanges so I can get the card done in time for my friend..she got engaged a few days ago..needed to send it off mid week this week...lots of stuff coming up so I can't possibly restitch those two..or anything else for that matter.. :x :x :x :x :x

Oh God CF I am so sorry for you!

Is there no way it can saved through washing etc or had you already made up the cards?

It sounds as though they didn't make much of an attempt to clean the puch up either how awful of them! I hope they own up too!!

HUn, I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Is there no chance of washing out the soda? I find a little 'vanish' stain remover or something similar in a little warm water works wonders.

I hope you manage to get your friends card sorted though. I'm sure she won't mind that it arrives a week or so late. She will more than likely be thrilled that you took the time to make such a lovely and thoughtful gift for her.

hugs coming your way to help cheer you up.

Being upset is understandable but I'd want blood!!

I understand accidents will happen but to not even try to clean up and save someone elses property from being ruined... grrr....

Did anyone own up/apologise?

Oh no! :x I'd be spitting mad. The least they could have done was try to clean it up.

I'm so sorry. :(

That's so upsetting, to think one of them would do that. :x
I mean, if someone had come to you and explained, tried to put it right and been truely sorry, even though you'd be upset for the loss, I'm sure you'd have understood accidents happen and probably ended up comforting them!

It's just the way no one has even come to you that upsets me.

Poor C-F, I'm really sorry about this. :choc:

Oh CF that is so sad. :( I think I would still try to throw them in the wash just to see how they might clean up. You can never tell.

So annoying that no one even had the kindness to try to clean up the mess.

Yes, C_F, do just chuck them in the wash -- you can't make it any worse and it might just make it better!

But what a rotten thing to have happen to you, I'm so sorry

I'm so sorry, what an awful thing to happen! I'd be spitting feathers - I can't believe one of your colleagues could do that and not even own up or try to clean up. If I'd done that I'd feel terrible and be on my knees grovelling.

Sorry to hear about this CF, how can people not even tell you about it or try at the time to do something, I would feel so quilty :( I also would definately try washing the stitching as if it is ruined anyway you have nothing else to lose.

I'm with you. I don't think I would have been able to work for several days afterwards until my blood cooled down a bit.

My dog did something similiar yesterday. I took my ziplock bags of stitching out so I could scan a couple of progress pictures so I could update my SALs. I laid one out on my desk and then got up to go to the bathroom. When I came back my dog had torn apart the bag and all my bobbins were scattered across the floor (luckily I had already taken the fabric out, if she would have chewed up that I wouldn't have a dog any more). One of the bobbins was soaked because she tried to eat it. She got scolded, severly. And now that thread is all strung out and drying after being washed. Then I'll have to rewind it. I knew something was up when I got out of the bathroom and she went running in the opposite direction. That's never a good sign.
