What's your favourite fragrance?

Post by silviaciuchi »

I know this might sound trivial, but I so love fragrances and I'm curious to know what a cross-stitcher wears.
I'll name mine:

Penhaligon's Ellenisia, so British
Miller Harris' Fleur Orientale, so warm and sexy
Etro Vicolo Fiori, so delicate

What about yours?

Daily wear - Beautiful by Estee Lauder (people always tell me it smells nice on me)
Going out - Ysatis by Givenchy (dated, but I love it)
Occasionally - Chanel no5

None are especially trendy and I'm 'only' in my 30's but I like them!

Hardly ever wear any, but when I do it's Anais Anais by Cacharel -- left-over from my long-gone teens :-)

Obsession for everything (I like to be consistant).

On another fragrant front I love the smell of Mulberry candles. They can instantly relax me no matter how bad my day is going.

I don't own a single bottle of perfume :( my husband finds even the most delicate fragrance too overpowering and it gives him a headache or worse. I cannot even remember what fragrance I wore before I met him, it is so long ago. It's the Johnson's 24 hour moisturiser for me  very romantic

Hope this doesn't sound snobby, but I only wear Chanel No 5. I get mine off the ferry usually. But a few years ago we were lucky enough to go to Paris and my hub took me to the Chanel Store ( which is utterly amazing and smells like heaven) and he bought me a bottle from there. The packaging was enough to die for, I didn't want to open it!

My skin reacts to perfume turning it into a horrid smelly pong within a short time.. so I tend to rely on talc and bubble bath to smell nice.. my favourite is Magnolia from M&S... I am always running out as our nearest store is 30 miles away :(

Up until recently, my "usual" daytime choice was Very Valentino, but I can't get hold of it any more. :(

My "going out" fragrance is Poison by Dior.

I have allergic rhinitis and reacts to perfume mixed with oil. I love sweet smelling colognes, though!

My favorite perfume is "Happy Heart" by Clinique.

I practically attacked a girl at a high school football (american) game to find out what she was wearing, it smells THAT good!

I have two favourites. Unfortunately I rarely get to use them these days as the people I'm mostly with suffer with allergies and the purfume affects their breathing.

When I do get to wear them, I wear COCO by chanel  and PARIS by YvesSaintLaurent  .
I love both.

In traditional perfumes I like L'eau d'Issey (Issey Miyake) and Angel by Theirry Mugler (?)

However I really like solid perfumes from Lush or L'occitane as they don't set off my allergies as much.
