Thank you all. I do feel snug when wearing an Aran hat. Still have one I made a few years ago but decided to knit another this year. I like the Aran cream colour but I found a ball of blue stashed away so will knit that later on. Not enough to make whole hat blue so will start with the rest of this creamy one for the ribbing & make the rest blue.

At the moment wear a DK hat on cold days - turquoise or off white one. But when it gets colder the Aran keeps me really warm as the brim comes down my forehead.

In my 42 years I've mastered knitting scarves and got no further, I've looked at the patterns for other items and like crochet I just get confused :doh:
