Suffolk puff Christmas tree (not mine)

I'm sharing this here because I would like to make one myself for next Christmas - my sewing skills should be up to this one :-)!

This one was made by my MIL; you can't see it very well in the pics but it's mounted on a custom-made wooden base-with-attached-skewer which she was given at her embroidery class. I'll have to make one out of a small clay pot or something like that. I've got one fabric that will be suitable, a cream with holly leaves and some gold spots; alternated with something gold and sparkly it should come out just right!

That is lovely! I'm sure that yours will be beautiful too. Just sorry we have to wait a year to see it.

Now that is a very good design for those Suffolk Puffs. I've seen the used in a quilt but that looks much more fun. Look forward to seeing your take on them :whoop:

Ooo, I like it! Now I know what to do with my left over Christmas fabrics and the other ones that I bought but don't go with anything else I own. :D

I've got some fabrics together, for two trees (once I get some gold lame) - one gold/red/green and one blue/white/silver

Oh how gorgeous and what a neat way to use the Suffolk Puffs too. Love your colour schemes too Mabel. and you have just answered a query I put to myself this morning.

We are in the midst of a heat wave here at present 34c and rising 45c+ inland and I looked at Sunday's forecast 32c and thought now what bolero can I wear with my blue and white polka dot sleeveless dress. The air con at church is super efficient and where I usually sit it gets cold around the shoulders etc. I know my little blue bolero is too hot but I do have a silver lacey one, so I am set now. Thank you.

Not found the right gold yet, but I was given a couple of swatches by our local fabric shop!

Mmmmmm not really either of them is it. The one on the right is "in the family" of the gold match but not IT - darn it.
