Miranda's sewing and quilting

Post by istitchwithlove »

Well I finally since injuring my Sartorius somehow in my left leg and then in my right for over compensating..i finally was able to sew again. My first huggie turned out like crap. I turned down the edges too much and connected them together with too much sewn together. I managed to get all 4 of my mario brother's fabric turned into huggies. I have 3 Pokemon prints left to sew as my first huggie was my red pokemon fabric...so 3 more to go and then my Map of Middle Earth will be all the way nerded out.

Well done on the huggies. I have a few - but I made none. I took the easy way out and bought them online. :-)

:applesauce: :applesauce: very pretty. I also bought mine for q-snaps on line and had some special ones made for hoops by Niki (Fizzbw) which have been great. Being able to make your own is its own talent. I can barely sew a hem.

I have been sewing since I was 5 but I really got into it after my Grandma passed 7 days after my 27th birthday. I love sewing stuff like this and I am about to head to my sewing cave (Back half of the family room..front half is dad's) to sew the last three I have elastic for...I need to buy more 1/4 inch elastic to make more from my stash of other fabrics...not just my geekery fabrics

You are certainly on a roll with those huggies and they are gorgeous. Well Done.

These huggies are my new obsession.. LOL mom as woozy as she was from yesterday's intense dental procedure took me to joann's in the rain and bought me 16 yards of elastic.. 2 8 yard packs and 3 Halloween prints that were 40% off...in return I will be doing her laundry and helping with dishes..Cause I was broke till payday which is Friday..so she used her allowance to feed my obsession. So tomorrow is sewing and laundry

And today I made 12 huggies and managed to use all of my elastic. I pulled all the cool to use fabrics from my stash and have a huge pile to turn into huggies. I need to get more elastic tomorrow

And these are all 12 in a pile and it's what 16 yard of elastic looks like.......

I have a huge pile of fabric left to make more. But I forgot my lower body is still injured so I need to take it easy for a few days.
