Hi all,
I've started mixing my crafts - combining printmaking with cross stitch.
The result is satisfying, but I need to do some more experimentation, as I'd like to start on some larger projects, and multi-colour pieces.
The basic method is stitching on plastic canvas, over two (to make a 7 count grid), inking up the cross stitched piece, and then popping it in the press like any other relief print block.

I've just got the four designs so far. Next I'm going to try some blackwork designs, see how strongly the patterns come through.

Those are really cute! Looking forward to seeing more of these and very curious how the blackwork stitching turns out.

What an unusual combination of crafts. I have never seen this idea before. Quite striking.
