Gingerbread House

Post by Serinde »

It's the first time I've ever tried decorating one, so I'm pretty pleased with the result. The kit arrived with Smarties (like M&Ms, sort of), but you know, you just can't leave it at that, now, can you? Jelly Tots, a cannibalised candy cane, sugar snowflakes and sugar stars later... sort of, have cookie decorations, will embellish.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE

Smarties are like M&Ms, only better. :D

Love your house.

:whoop: :whoop: Absolutely yummy looking!! I love Gingerbread and Gingerbread houses. We had the most awesome gingerbread on my trip across the pond when we went to the Lakes District and Beatrix Potter's home. I forgot the name of the gingerbread bakery, but we brought home quite a few packages as gifts. It is the best gingerbread I have ever had. Now I'm hungry for some and there is nothing here to compare.
I think I will have to wonder over to the Stash & Grab for what I can find there.

Beautiful house! I have a fond memory of one when we were kids and used spearmint trees on the "lawn" and as shingles on the roof. I would likely over do the Smarties if i could still eat them.

That is so pretty!! I've always wanted to make one, but I figured I'd eat up all the ingredients first, lol.

Very cute! I haven't done a gingerbread house for years. And I'm pretty sure if I did that one, the Smarties would never make it onto the house.

That is very pretty Serinde. Never had open but I do like gingerbread. Thanks for the tip Carole. Wonder if a Lakeland bakery send by post. Will have to look for that as it would be lovely to get some really good gingerbread. I made a ginger & pear trifle once, (ginger cake slices the bottom layer) for a meal at a church I used to attend. I had some nice comments about it but DH doesn't like ginger so only made it once again when BIL & his OH came.
