Squirrels Quilting

Post by Squirrel »

Definitely on a roll at present, this is the 3rd item finished since I finished Pavilion

iHere is baby floor rug finally done. It has been in my cupboard in pieces for several years and I finally got around to putting all the hexagons together and this week I have sewn the lengths together.

It will now go back into the cupboard until I have a great grandson!!!!! Possibly a long wait for that happen but its done now and ready.
I have a set of 4 cross stitch kits of English birds, all so pretty which I will stitch soon and make them into a quilt for my first great grand daughter.

Thanks for looking.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: That is beautiful! Shame it will be in a cupboard rather than out and admired for how perfect it is.

What a wonderful piece of work you have created. So pretty & it is a shame to put it in a cupboard but can understand it is to be for future generations to cherish. :D

What a wonderful quilt! It's gorgeous and it must feel so nice to have completed it.

What a beautiful design! I love it for the baby, but it'd also be soooo pretty in a pile of cottagey fabrics. My aunt quilts so I grew up with an appreciation for the skill and perseverance required.

Thanks Seedreemer. It was a good one to have around and pick up when I didn't feel like the close work of cross stitch. Each hexagon was h emmed and quilted in hand and then set aside - plus there was and is no deadline so I can continue to add to it if I want.

That's neat about each hexagon being quilted in hand. I didn't realize that and didn't really know you could do that. My aunt pieces, layers, then puts it in a frame to quilt all at once. I hope your family appreciates it all. I have a couple of quilts my aunt made, and I love them. My mom has some as well, which I'll inherit. They truly are heirlooms.

We all also have some quilts my grandmother made along with some squares her mother made.
